Now I will post a candidate of IA from BLEACH again. Now is from the most popular and beloved by fans, who no other than Byakuya Kuchiki
Who Is He ?[]
Byakuya Kuchiki is one of secondary supporting character of BLEACH. He is a captain of 6th Division of Gotei 13 and also leader of Kuchiki's cla. He is Rukia's adoptive brother/brother-in-law, Hisana's husband and Renji's superior and also brother-in-law. An aloof and strict captain who uphold the rule within Gotei 13 and his clan. Despite this, he willingly break it if he needed, mainly to protect his loved one and division

In general[]
- While he is not a typical a person who open with the others, Byakuya still show that he is a generous and protective man :
- Willingly break his clan rule twice for marrying and adopting a commoner into the clan. First, he married Hisana, a woman from Inuzuri, a poorest and violent Soul Society district. Despite her condition and eventually dying from the illness, Byakuya remains loyal to her and never remarry another woman. Second, he adopt Hisana's sister, Rukia, who grow up in Inuzuri, to his clan to honor his late wife last wish. Despite his aloofness, he doing his best to be her brother-figure for her and protecting her from harms.
- In past, it turns out he pulling a strings to not allow Rukia receive a seated-officer rank, in order to protecting her from receiving a dangerous mission. After his redemption, Byakuya becomes more open to show his protectiveness toward Rukia despite he still restain his aloofness.
- In We Do KNOT Always Loves You, he help Rukia and Renji marriage. From their preparing their marriage registration, wedding attire and wedding ceremony. Effectively, he act like Rukia's father figure to her.
- After his redemption, he becomes one of Ichigo's loyal allies, trusting his power to protect Soul-Society, Rukia and Renji. He will join to help him in battle if he needed.
Main Story arc[]
- After bein defeated by Ichigo and listen his desire to saved Rukia, Byakuya amaze with his bravery and determination to break any kind of rule and laws to saved her from execution, which reminds him of Kaien Shiba. Realizing how his action will tarnishing Hisana's wish and legacy, he ultimately break the law and saved Rukia from almost being killed by Gin and Aizen.
- After Aizen leaving Soul Society, Byakuya confess his true feeling for Rukia and apologize at her for make her miserable.
- After seeing Renji accepted his apology and refused to let him died, Byakuya relationship with him become lot of mellow and once again accepting him back as his Lieutenant and trusting his power.
- Although he feel Ichigo refers his first name is sounds disrespectful, he still allow Ichigo to do it instead of corrected it.
- Despite initially never let Rukia and Renji to go saved Orihime from Espada, he still allow them to accompany him in secret because he know Ichigo will break the rule by going alone to saved her.
- After seeing Rukia injured and being held hostage by Zommari, Byakuya engage a battle at him and saved Rukia from Zommari's possession. After her recover, he tell to her to take her time to rest since they will faced another bigger fight in coming.
- Despite his initial annoyance toward Kenpachi Zaraki, Byakuya still accepting him to join him help Ichigo and the others from Yammy Llargo.
- Byakuya and the rest of member of Gotei 13, agree to restoring Ichigo's shinigami power by placing his reiatsu into a special sword so Rukia can restore Ichigo's power.
- During his battle against Tsukishima, Byakuya's loyalty toward Ichigo strong enough that he is immune from Tsukishima's brainwashing and manipulation and succesfully defeated him.
- While accepting Renji's help to defeated As Nodt, Byakuya warns to him to not using his Bankai since their opponent can stole their Bankai and his already taken by him.
- After his defeat by As Nodt, a dying Byakuya apologize to Renji and Rukia for failing to saved them.
- After seeing Ichigo's arrival, he asked to him about Renji and Rukia's condition. Knowing they are alive, Byakuya calmly beg to Ichigo to protect Soul Society.
- After his recovery, he quickly saved Rukia from As Nodt, tell to her to let her fear go and praise her progression as a Shinigami. After seeing Rukia's bankai, he amaze at her new power while still warns her to not forcing herself to use it since it can kills her since her training is incomplete.
- Although he attacked Hisagi Shuhei in self-defense since he was being possessed by PePe, Byakuya choose to not use a lethal force to fight him.
- In Warwehlt, Byakuya saved Renji and Rukia from Gerard attack, instructed them to go for Ichigo and help him against Yhwach.
Filler and Movie[]
- In Bount arc, after give Rukia a medical attention from her previous fight against Yoshi, he decided to help Ichigo fight against Jin Kariya.
- In "Zanpakuto Unknown Tales arc", he faking his own betrayal to located Yamamoto prison by Muramasa. Later, he join Ichigo and the others to fight Koga and Muramasa.
- In " Bleach : The Hell Verse" , he help Ichigo to re-enter Hell by blocking Kushanada's attack to saved Rukia, Renji and Uryu.
Whats make him Inconsistent ?[]
- The reason why he can't qualified Near Pure Good because he remains aloof, prideful individual and sometime mocking his opponent even after his redemption. While he becomes more mellow, he still refuse to be more open.
- He was introduced as Arc Villain for "Soul Society arc" due to his overly uphold laws and rule make him a zealot member of Gotei 13 who never questioned the flaw of the rule, cause an temporary resentment and fear for Renji, and almost tarnishing his wife wish for letting Rukia's execution.
- Despite his professionalism toward Renji, he still give a beatdown at him and destroy his bankai. Byakuya even refuse to let Renji receive a medical help, imprison him and want to demoted him from his position as lieutenant as a punishment.
- Byakuya even coldly mocking Ukitake (his fellow captain who also Rukia's superior) shocked over his reaction at Rukia's execution date and then cold-heartly criticizing his condition by claiming not being overexert.
- Attempted to kill both Ganju Shiba and Hanataro Yamada for shielding themselves for Rukia, which is luckily stopped by Ukitake.
- During his final fight against Ichigo, he furiously declare that he would kill Ichigo and execute Rukia by himself.
