I decided to do Seven Deadly IA from the mobile game and decided propose an original character from the Grand Cross mobile game and picked Hel the Goddess of Death from the Ragnarok storyline.
What's the work?[]
Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is a mobile game based on the Seven Deadly Sins Manga & Anime of the same name.
Who is she?[]
Hel is the Goddess of Death who rules the underworld and the adoptive daughter of Loki, the adoptive sister of Fenrir and Jormungand.
What makes her admirable?[]
I will be only having her follow the Admirable Standards of the Ragnarok: Fate of the Gods storyline since it isn't clear if it is canon to the main series or not despite being written by the series creator. And while she is a death goddess the storyline state the gods most of their power due to Ragnarok coming up so she isn't too significantly and the Sins had ton more screentime than her so they are unfair comparisons here.
Despite her having to compete with her siblings she would be to stand out for her smaller screentime and the following acts:
- She created the underworld so souls can rest in peace since before then when people die they their souls would be in a state of emptiness and nothingness an fate far worse than death.
- She allowed her cousin Baldr to help her in he underworld and to have him hide from being an heir of Odin who Baldr didn't want to be his father's heir due to his terrible acts.
- When Nidhoggr an giant serpent was eating world tree root sustaining the underworld and would've destroyed it putting the inhabitants who alreadt have died in a fate worse than death. Nidhogger destroying the underworld doesn't rely on fridge-horror as it was shaking and the soul inhabitants panicking as Nidhoggr was chewing through the world tree root sustaining it so this fridge-brilliance. She did had some help but MOST the credit can go to her since she was the one to drive Nidhoggr away in the end.
While some other characters did do a bit more Hel would stand out for her smaller screentime, creating the underworld so souls can rest in peace happily and saving people from an fate worse than death would allow her to stand out.
What makes her inconsistent?[]
- While she got few corruptions buuuut some of them are WAY TOO severe to make her NPG:
- She is Grey Zone since she is the Goddess of Death after all meaning she killed people before according to stories from Grimnir but even if you can debunk this one her other one would be hard to do so.
- She also too sadistic to be NPG as in one scene when Hawk asked what he looked like dead, she sadistically seriously said asked if she can kill him and she said it too seriously to excuse it off as an joke or an comedic moment.
- She has a minor mischievous moment of calling her brother Fenrir older brother despite her being older him technically but did it since he was adopted first but is an minor prevention though.
Verdict[]
Overall her creating the underworld for souls to rest in peace and her being the one to stop Nidhoggr from destroying the underworld which would've put many in a fate worse than death allows her to pass the original storyline's admirable standards and stand out but is an grey zone character due to her being an death goddess and too much of an sadistic person to be PG or NPG.
