The most heinous character in the series is also one of the most admirable
After having proposed Jinx (Arcane), I thought I might as well get down another easy qualifier for this wiki.
What's the work?[]
Arcane is a 2021 Netflix series made by Riot, based off the popular video game League of Legends. The story focuses on two sisters, Vi and Jinx, who end up opposing sides of the conflict between the cities of Piltover and Zuan. Piltover is advanced through the development of Hextech, created by two intelligent scientists; Jayce Tails and Viktor.
Who is Viktor? What has he done?[]
Viktor was a poor young man from Zaun, who wanted to us his research and inventions to make an impact on the world, as well as cure his illness that is slowly killing him. After befriending Jayce Tails, the two become inventor's of Hextech to help the people of Piltover.
What makes him admirable?[]
- He saves Jayce when he's about to commit suicide.
- Alongside Jayce, revolutionized Hextech in Piltover, leading to tremendous progress and growth in the city.
- He strongly opposed Mel's desire to use Hextech as weapon's.
- Was willing to destroy his research completely after Sky's death, not even caring that it would sentence him to death.
- After being fused together with Hexcore and reviving after Jinx's attack, he feels sympathy for the people suffering and uses his powers to heal them from their sicknesses.
- Creates a community of peace where people can live together without violence.
- Was willing to help Vi and Jinx free Vander from Warwick's influence.
- Initially refused Singed's suggestion to fuse Warwick's blood with his own.
- He attempted to save Jayce and tell him to leave him behind.
- By far his most admirable act, after seeing the bad future where he wins that Jayce went through, he and Jayce sacrifice themselves to destroy the wild rune and save everyone.
What makes him Inconsistent?[]
- He becomes on & off in season 2; while the hexcore gives him moral agency issues, it doesn't corrupt him as he does his actions out of his own free will and he ends up turning his followers into robotic zombies, completely wiping out Vander's mind/memories to turn him into a weapon and trying to force all of humanity into his assimilation plot and take away their free will. Even if he redeems himself, he's still FAR too inconsistent for anything higher than IA.
Final Verdict?[]
I'd say yes, both one of the most admirable and heinous character's in the series.
