Sup, guys. New IA Proposal here. Having watched the film for about, at least one billion times already, I believe this guy easily qualifies for the trope.
What's the Work?[]
Postal is a film created by Uwe Boll on 2007 based on Running with Scissors' video game of the same name though more so on its sequel POSTAL 2. The film revolves around the Postal Dude who tries to get a job but then gets involved in a robbery of Krotchy dolls thanks to Uncle Dave being in debt and it turns out Richard and the terrorists want to use said dolls to destroy the world.
Who is He? What Has He Done?[]
The Postal Dude is the titular main protagonist of the film. He is a random guy at Paradise City who tries to get a new job but fails. Then, he gets involved in a robbery along with Uncle Dave and they ended up stealing whole batches of Krotchy dolls. However, Richard then reveals the dolls have the Avian Bird Flu in them which the terrorists want to use to spread it all to the United States to cause destruction and death while Richard wants to use it to wipe out the entire planet. The Postal Dude then at one point gets in a shootout outside of his trailer and then attempted to stop the people involved by giving them a motivational speech and asking them if he wanted to shoot or hug and that he would activate a bomb if they kept shooting. He ended up killing all the people and manages to take care of the terrorists and Richard as well as blowing up the Krotchy dolls before later being blown up himself by 30 warheads sent by Japan along with the rest of the United States.
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
He's practically the only real admirable character in the film as all Faith does is just aid him in blowing up the Krotchy dolls and didn't even contribute that much other than just helping him mow down the people attack them.
Mitigating Factors?[]
While he did make a cat become a literal pistol silencer at one time, this is only played for comedic effect considering the cat is seen to be later absolutely fine.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
I think we all know what makes him inconsistent, he's pretty much done multiple villainous things such as helping in stealing the Krotchy dolls, literally killing a woman just because she closed the welfare office (and also called her a bitch btw), and also killed many, many people, even if most of that's in self-defense. He doesn't actively do anything heroic and he's more of a guy just trying to get by his life.
