After reading all the Dog Man comic books (Including The Wrath of Petey and The Tongue of Justice) I think Dog Man stands a good chance of qualifying for Inconsistently Admirable. Although The Wrath of Petey and The Tongue of Justice aren't in the Dog Man series, they both typically count as the Dog Man comic series as both of the comics include Dog Man as a hero. This will be my first Inconsistently Admirable proposal which I worked on days to make it good.

Admirable Standards?[]
Despite how common redemption is in the Dog Man comic book series, Dog Man still stands out as one of the most heroic characters due to not having the ability to control things with his mind like Flippy and Molly or having any robots like Petey and Dr. Scum (Although Dr. Scum was a villain, he still was responsible for Dog Man getting out of jail by sending a robot to take his place). Greg the Dog's and Officer Knight's only heroic deed was trying to defuse a bomb, making them fail the admirable standards to Dog Man who had done a lot more heroic things on screen. Dog Man just managed to show the public the Evil Mayor's evil plan with the simple use of a phone. Crunky needed a lot of pies to anger Junior the Demodex Mite. Sarah Hatoff needed a purse to stop Leader Winnie as a robot. And Chief needed to watch a security camera footage to find out Dog Man pooped in his office. Dog Man also manages to stack up with Li'l Petey and 80-HD due to having a history of committing heroic deeds and stopping Petey from doing his evil plans in the earlier Dog Man comics.
What makes him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too mischievous to be Near Pure Good or Pure Good such as: Jumping on the Chief despite it being obvious the Chief dislikes that habit, Refusing to give Chief the things he hold with his teeth causing the object Dog Man and Chief were pulling to break in half, digging up Current Mayor's flower garden, and Licking the other characters without their permission.
- There were some instances where Dog Man breaks the rules such as: Causing chaos in the Pet Store by licking all the bones, sampling all the kibbles, and playing with all the squeaky balls in Unleashed, chasing a squirrel and barking at it despite clearly being told by Chief not to get distracted in Lord of the Fleas, and licking Ding-Dong Magoo's mouth when Sam E. Hamilton told Dog Man) that he (Dog Man) should apologize to Ding-Dong Magoo.
- He sometimes used lethal/extreme methods to stop villains. Instances include but may not be limited to: Trying to bite Petey in Robo-Chief, Tricking Petey into getting hit by the school playground equipment in Book 'Em Dog Man!, causing Flat Petey to freeze quickly on a mountain in Unleased, hitting Supa Mecha Philly with a bone in Dog Man and Cat Kid, and sprinkling Exploding Bugs on Dog Man A.I. Bot.
- Although Dog Man's wrath isn't as bad as Petey, Piggy, or Dr. Scum, he is still wrathful enough to not be Pure Good or Near Pure Good. In Lord of the Fleas, Dog Man growled at Dr. Katz who was Petey in disguise just for saying Li'l Petey had to go to Kitten School. In For Whom the Balls, when Dog Man saw Petey right next to his (Dog Man's) house, Dog Man jumped on Petey and growled at him (Petey). In A Tale of Two Kittens, Dog Man growled at a couple just for wanting to dye Li'l Petey's fur pink, growled at a father and his son just for wanting to have Li'l Petey's claws declawed when it was done so their furniture won't be wrecked, and growled at an Elderly Lady just for wanting to fit Li'l Petey well with her 29 other cats.
Final Verdict[]
Yes for constantly saving the world, showing he cares for his friends multiple times, rescuing Petey sometimes, stopping Petey in the earlier books, and having less resources than most of the cast, but was too mischievous, breaks the rules too many times, sometimes used lethal methods to stop the villains, and was wrathful several times.
