What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is an anti-hero who is also portrayed as a villain, as he has committed many vindictiveness and even outright evil acts for his family. Such examples include when supporting Joffrey's claim for the Iron Throne, punishing people like Pycelle cruelly, betraying Varys for Daenerys to save his skin, and indirectly caused Jon to kill Daenerys by exposing the former's linage. Although he has felt remorse for some of these acts, especially in the later seasons, his corrupting qualities and lack of remorse for numerous other acts causes him to be way too corrupting to be Near Pure Good.
- He often displays a wrathful side, such as repeatedly slapping Joffrey for his insolence, lashing out against the civilians of King's Landing during his trial on Joffrey's murder, and remorselessly breaking off his positive relationship with Jaime. Due to most of these situations warranting this anger, however, this makes for a minor prevention.
- He has a lethal side, as he risked Shae's life by bringing her to King Landing, even when knowing about how dangerous of a place it was, and when she betrayed him, he killed her. He also kills Tywin in the privy in cold blood (Even if he deserved it).
- He can be very selfish and arrogant at times and to mocking other sarcastically, like mocking Theon for the tragedy he experienced. he also Ignores important warnings.
- He also returns on problematic habits like to been drunky, even try to cause Missandei and Podrik to drink (However it's more out of cuteness than mischief and it's still a problematic habit).
- In the TV series he is also shown as sacrificing his men too much, among other things he takes care of leading the expedition to capture a white mover and then asks Daenerys not to help them (although she doesn't listen to him) and also places riders outside the walls in the battle of Winterfell, causing most of them to be killed. In addition, he encouraged Jon to murder Daenerys and is responsible for punishing the latter for it.
