NOTE: This profile is about Trunks from the main timeline and not the future timeline.

Trunks is one of the main characters of the Dragon Ball franchise. He is a human/Saiyan hybrid who is the only son of Prince Vegeta and Bulma Brief and the older brother of Bulla. He is also Goten's best friend.

In the Japanese dub, he was voiced by the late Hiromi Tsuru as a baby and then by Takeshi Kusao. In the English dub, he was voiced by Stephanie Nadolny and Colleen Clinkenbeard (both of whom also voiced the child versions of Goku and Gohan) as a baby, Laura Bailey (who also voiced the child versions of Chi-Chi and Dende) and Alexis Tipton as a child and by Eric Vale as a teen/adult.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • Attempts to save the universe by defeating Majin Buu.
  • Helps defeat Kid Buu by offering his energy to Goku and attempts to encourage the people of Earth to do it too.
  • Helps Goten get Videl a wedding gift.
  • Saves the Pilaf Gang from a shark and offers them food at Bulma's party.
  • Plays a role in saving the Earth from Beerus by participating in the Super Saiyan God Ritual, turning Goku into a Super Saiyan God to fight Beerus.
  • Takes Piccolo to Kami's Lookout to revive him with the Dragon Balls.
  • Takes on Gryll and his men in an attempt to stop them from stealing the Superhuman Water.
  • Allows the Pilaf Gang to live at Capsule Corp with him.
  • Helps fix his future self's time machine, allowing him to travel back to his timeline and defeat Goku Black.
  • While he was insulting him, he still encourages his future self not to give up.
  • Wanted to fight in the Tournament of Power for the safety of the universe.
  • Kept Android 17's island safe from crooks along with Goten and Marron.
  • Lends Goku his energy to help him in his fight with Moro.
  • During his spare time, he and Goten operate as superheroes known as Saiyaman X-1 and X-2, and on one encounter, they stop a duo of robbers.
  • Saves multiple lives by defeating a bunch of Dr. Hedo's androids.
  • Helps Krillin in arresting Dr. Hedo.
  • Assists Gohan and Piccolo during their fight with Cell Max, even preventing him from escaping Piccolo's grasp in the manga, thus allowing Gohan to kill him.
  • While characters like his father, his future counterpart, Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, Android 17, Beerus and Master Roshi do more admirable acts, Trunks has less resources than all of them and doesn't have as much power as they do, making it unfair to compare him to them.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is too cocky and arrogant to be NPG, as he acts very full of himself and his lack of getting stronger gets him hurt numerous times, which is one of the reasons why the Z-Fighters don't let him and Goten fight villains with them. His cockiness is also the reason his and Goten's fusion Gotenks is a cocky jerk who always acts so full of himself and thinks he's the strongest being in the universe.
  • He's very jerkish and rude towards many people, as shown when he mocks his opponents at the World Martial Arts Tournament for being weak. Another example is when he cruelly downtalks his future counterpart for being unable to defeat Goku Black and Future Zamasu, and while it has an understandable motive to get him back on his feet and not give up, it was still pretty mean and inconsiderate for Trunks to say something like this.
  • He is also incredibly mischievous, as he does things that get him into serious trouble, such as impersonating Mighty Mask, even convincing Goten to tag along.
  • He can be reckless, as he tried to use the Final Flash technique against Android 18 during their match, which could've killed her and caused huge damage, which Goten was even against and told him to hold back his power for safety.
