Trevor Belmont is the main protagonist of Netflix's animated series Castlevania. He is a tragic monster hunter who faced the destruction of his own family by the ignorant townspeople and the corrupt church. He is presented as a very cynical misanthrope, who only hunts monsters for money since he has seen the darkness in humanity and feels he should not care for anything else. But when the show progresses, he starts to find a new meaning in his life and accepts his role as a monster hunter, living up to his family's legacy. He is loosely based on the character with the same name from the video game series.
Trevor is voiced by Richard Armitage in English and Ryōtarō Okiayu in the Japanese dub.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Despite his pessimism, he still helps people and cares for their lives.
- He defended the Speakers from the persecution of the church.
- He saved humanity from the threat of Dracula with the help of Sypha and Alucard.
- He lends the Belmont Hold to Alucard and has him protect it, much to Sypha and Alucard's surprise.
- He revealed the corruption of the church to all the civilians of Gresit.
- He denounced the Bishop and expressed shock at the Bishop's horrifying plan of killing the Speakers.
- Despite claiming to hate priests, he had a regularly ordained priest to help create holy water for defenses against the night creatures. And expressed shock when Zamfir told him that she killed all the remaining priests in Târgoviște.
- Despite antagonizing each other, Trevor and Alucard do respect each other as friends.
- He understands Saint Germain's loneliness from his own experience.
- He helps Zamfir despite how crazy she is.
- He prevented the resurrection of Dracula two times in the series.
- Before his fight with Death, he told Sypha that he loved her and that Trefor is not a good name for their unborn child.
- He sacrificed himself to fight Death alone even though he would die.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Trevor is far too cynical and misanthropic to be close to Pure Good. He relates to Dracula and his reason to hate humanity, and relented many times on how bad humanity can be due to his own experiences.
- He is very hedonistic, tending to get drunk, and loves to drink to the point of saying "It's better than sex", which angered Sypha.
- He showcases jerkish tendencies when it comes to his interactions with people, frequently getting into bar fights and throwing snide remarks at the people around him.
- He is shown to be very lethal and slightly sadistic when it comes to fighting, as shown as early as the second episode, where he removes the finger of a priest attacking him and taunts him about it afterwards. He never properly overcomes this, nor does he show remorse.
