Who cares about your damn rules? You want me to make a choice? There's no way I could ever make that choice! I wouldn't choose one and leave the other behind! Both are... Both are important to me. So... So... I'll definitely protect both!
~ Toko to Monaca, refusing to choose between Byakuya Togami and Komaru Naegi.

Toko Fukawa is one of the main protagonists of the Danganronpa franchise. Titled the Ultimate Writing Prodigy, she was a student at Hope's Peak Academy who ended up in the first killing game.

She is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro in Japanese. In English, she is voiced by Amanda Celine Miller in the games and Carli Mosier in the anime.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Admirable?[]

In General[]

  • She feels horrible about the murders her alternate personality, Genocide Jack, commits, and eventually forces Jack to stop killing people to please Byakuya.
  • She's an intern at the Future Foundation, a group dedicated to helping the world recover from despair caused by Junko's insanity.
  • She, along with the rest of the first game's cast, locks the group away from the world at large to stop themselves from being endangered by the Ultimate Despair.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc[]

  • She aids in solving several of the murder cases of the game, stopping the culprits from killing everyone other than themselves.
  • She assists in finally defeating Junko Enoshima during the final class trial.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls[]

  • She sets out into Towa City to save Byakuya Togami who was kidnapped by the Warriors of Hope.
  • Meeting up with Komaru Naegi, the two team up, and Toko helps save Komaru's life several times.
  • The duo stop the Warriors of Hope, child serial killers who go after adults, several times over.
  • Toko saves Komaru from being groped by Kotoko Utsugi's machine.
  • Despite everything she's done, Toko defends Kotoko from the Monokuma Kids, and saves her from them.
  • While she did make a deal with Nagito to mislead Komaru, she ends up betraying Nagito and genuinely helping Komaru after Komaru tells her that they're friends.
  • She and Komaru track down Monaca to save Towa City and Byakuya.
  • When Monaca sends Komaru into despair by revealing the apparent deaths of her parents, Toko, now knowing what the controller does, takes it from Komaru and saves all the children in Towa City from having their helmets, and therefore heads, exploded.
  • When Haiji tries to take it from her, she refuses to give up, holding onto it tightly until Kotoko fends him off.
  • She wakes Komaru from her despairful state and restores hope in her to stop Big Bang Monokuma.
  • With Komaru, she blasts Big Bang Monokuma with the hacking gun, stopping it from causing further damage to Towa City.
  • When Komaru decides to stay in Towa City to save both adults and children, Toko decides to stay with her as well.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School[]

  • She and Komaru track down Monaca and try to stop her scheme with the Final Killing Game.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • While she sheds many corrupting qualities, she still remains a classical anti-hero to the end, being needlessly jerkish to most people she meets, with her showing genuine kindness being rare and only towards those she's incredibly close with already.
  • She's far too perverted for NPG, having several moments of fantasizing about and harassing Byakuya, insinuates Komaru is into her brother, and even implying Aoi has sex with other swimmers.
