The T-850 is the tritagonist of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. The T-850 once worked for Skynet by succeeding its original mission to terminate John Connor. Soon after John's death, the T-850 gets captured by Katherine Brewster and reprogrammed to work for the human resistance. The T-850 is then sent to the past with the mission to protect the past counterparts of Kate and John from Skynet and the T-X.
Its Good Ranking[]
What Makes It Admirable?[]
- In its reprogrammed state, it abandons its villainous ways to protect and prepare the past versions of John and Kate for Judgment Day.
- Ramming the T-X with a truck, thereby saving Kate's life.
- Locking up Kate in a van to start its search on finding John.
- Fighting off the T-X, giving John and Kate escape from being killed.
- Pretended to choke John, as a way to fuel his anger and stop whining.
- Shooting a rocket at the T-X, allowing Kate to be rescued.
- Showing John and Kate on the events of Judgment Day to teach them on surviving it.
- Agreed to John and Kate's request to save Robert Brewster.
- Seeing John and Kate's futile attempts to stop Judgment Day, it lies to satisfy their false hopes to trick them into being led into a nuclear bunker for their protection.
- Shooting the T-X, which saves Robert Brewster from getting killed right away.
- Fighting the T-X again for John and Kate to escape Skynet's nuclear attack.
- Deactivated itself to prevent his new reprogramming to kill John and Kate.
- Using its body to stop Crystal Peak's door from closing in on John and Kate.
- While holding the door, it kills the T-X, stopping it from ever harming John and Kate.
What Makes It Inconsistent?[]
- It suffers from strong moral agency issues since its redemption only happened due to being reprogrammed by Kate.
- It's made evident by its lack of desire to do good deeds and having a stronger interest in protecting John and Kate.
- Shows no remorse for having murdered the future counterpart of John.
- It also refuses to follow the young John Connor's orders, since it was only reprogrammed to follow Kate's orders instead, despite future John's emotional attachment to it due to his childhood experience with the T-800.
- It also forcefully stole a man's clothes and some supplies at a gas station without remorse.
Trivia[]
- It and it's Transformers crossover version are the only versions of the Terminator to be Inconsistently Admirable.
