Stanley "Stan" Pines, also known as Grunkle Stan, is the deuteragonist of the Disney Channel/Disney XD animated series Gravity Falls.
He is Dipper and Mabel's great-uncle, Soos Ramirez and Wendy Corduroy's boss, Gideon Gleeful's business rival, and owner/proprietor of the Mystery Shack, a tourist trap full of questionable "oddities".
He is voiced by series creator Alex Hirsch, who also voiced Old Man McGucket in the same series.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- In spite of his position as a criminal, he loves his family, especially his brother and grandniblings, dearly.
- He has some moments where he is hard on Dipper, but he was only hard because wanted to toughen Dipper up so he can stand up for himself if the world goes against him.
- Protecting Mabel and Dipper from zombies in "Scary-oke".
- Assisting Dipper in saving Wendy from her brainwashing inflicted by Robbie's music in "Boyz Crazy". After Wendy harshly rejects Dipper's offer to hang out afterwards, Stan comforts him.
- He exposes Little Gideon as a fraud not only to get his shack back, but also to help defeat him and save Dipper and Mabel.
- He spent 30 years searching for his long lost brother, Stanford Pines, which primarily took place prior to the events of the series.
- He saved Dipper and Ford from Probabilitor.
- In the series finale, he sacrificed his mind in order to kill Bill Cipher from stop him from expanding Weirdmageddon over the entirety of his dimension, as well as protecting his family from him.
- Although Bill offered him whatever he wanted in exchange to spare him, Stan punches Bill and kills him to save Gravity Falls and allows his memory to be erased, knowing "[he] was good for something after all."
- Letting Mabel take Waddles back home with her.
- He wished Mabel and Dipper goodbye when they left Gravity Falls due to Summer being over.
- He goes sailing around the world with his brother in their own boat, something that they were planning since they were children.
- He left a warning in the Book of Bill that ultimately convinced the reader to betray Bill, thus preventing Bill’s return.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Along with his habit of scamming his customers at the Mystery Shack, he has an incredibly long criminal track record which includes killing a llama, stealing thermometers, committing voter and tax fraud, and trafficking pugs to name a few. While he initially did these crimes to earn enough money to stay alive, he still continues his criminal ways after settling down.
- He has numerous moments of being a jerk such as him constantly making fun of others, not to mention threatening to burn Ford’s journal out of spite.
- In order to bring his brother Stanford back, he opened a portal and knowingly put the entire universe in danger, which he felt no remorse for doing so.
- He threatened the bus driver at Gravity Falls with a iron knuckles, along with Stanford, for refusing to let Waddles on the bus.
Trivia[]
- He and Old Man McGucket are the only two Gravity Falls heroes to be Inconsistently Admirable.
- Coincidentally, both are very similar, being old men whose more prominent role in the series and relationship with Ford was only revealed in Season 2, as well as both being voiced by Alex Hirsch.
- He, and Stanford Pines are currently the only set of biological twins to be inconsistently admirable and near pure good respectively
- He, Sylens, Midnight, and The Man with No Name are the four Inconsistently Admirable characters to be in the Inconsistently Heinous Wiki, Magnificent Baddie Wiki, and Guile Heroes Wiki at the same time, ever since Omni-Man’s removal.
