Shadow the Hedgehog is a former antagonist turned supporting protagonist in the Sonic X anime.
He was voiced by Kōji Yusa in Japanese and Jason Griffith in English.
His Good Ranking[]
In General[]
- Since Sonic X goes only up to Sonic Adventure 2, and even with the original Metarix Saga, has a far lower admirable standard than the main game series.
- While he did spend some time in Season 3 as an antagonist it was due to his memory loss and Eggman manipulating him until he regained it near the end where he fully redeemed himself.
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- He does the same admirable acts like his game counterpart in Sonic Adventure 2 and extra in the adaption of it in the show:
- He saved Chris and Rouge the Bat when Prison Island was about to explode.
- Had an change of heart when he was swayed by Chris Thorndyke to help stop the Space Colony ARK from colliding with Earth.
- He had an supporting role in the Anime's original Metatix Saga which include;
- Helped Molly and her rebellion team on a planet attacked by the Metarix until both were betrayed; in the Japanese version he destroys the Metarix invaders when she was killed.
- Help Sonic's group in stealing the Chaos Emeralds from the Metarix until he and Sonic ended up clashing.
- He helps Sonic fight off the Metarix's armada from harming Sonic and Eggman's groups.
- He plays an major role in dealing with Dark Oak where he help Sonic fight him and later sacrifice himself to use Chaos Control to stop time to allow Dark Oak be defeated with the combination his act and Cosmos' sacrifice would give everyone else the means to stop the Metatrex once and for all.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too lethal like his game counterpart and spent most of the time as an On & Off Inconsistently Heinous villain prior to redeeming himself, which happened near the end of the anime, especially when his act of attempting to kill Cosmo. While she was being a spy for a Metarex and he had good reasons, it could've been dealt with differently, because this act alone is FAR TOO corrupting to make him even NPG especially when he felt no remorse for the act.
- He has some jerkish and arrogant personality traits like his game version.
Trivia[]
- He and his Sonic Cinematic Universe counterparts are the only versions of Shadow to be Inconsistently Admirable and Inconsistently Heinous at the same time, as far as game Shadow is an Villainous Benchmark as their continuities has an far lower heinous standard than the game continuity.
- He is the only Sonic X character to have the same moral ranking as his game counterpart, as Sonic and Amy are IA instead of NPG & PG respectively, Dr, Eggman is a VB instead of NPE, Gerald Robotnik is IH instead of a VB, and Tails, Knuckles, Cream, Maria, Tikal, Big, Rouge, and the Chaotix have not be morally ranked yet.
- Though it only applies for him for heroic ranking, since he has a different villainous ranking for the game version as stated above.
