I'll definitely become someone who can protect you, Ojou!
~ Tsugumi swearing to protect Chitoge.
I like you... Raku Ichijō. I hadn't understood my feelings all this time. But... now I know... I like you. My hearts beats faster just being near you. I feel happy being with you. But... in the end, I can't smile unless Ojou is happy. Too protect that smile is mt duty as well as my hapiness. That's why... that's why if someone like that appears one day, then... I think I'll try to falling in love. Then... Thank you, Raku Ichijō. For teaching me what love is.
~ Tsugumi accepting her feelings for Raku Ichijō and confessing them, but sacrificing her love for Chitoge's happiness.

Seishirō Tsugumi (鶫 誠士郎, Tsugumi Seishirō) is a major side character from the Nisekoi series. She is a hitman who was raised and trained by Claude Ringheart of the Bee Hive Gang. Tsugumi is originally introduced as a male student who transfers to Chitoge Kirisaki's class and has orders to protect her from Raku Ichijō, whom she thinks forced Chitoge into having a relationship with him.

Tsugumi, although considered a side character in both the manga and anime, has several chapters and episodes dedicated to the development of her relationship with Raku Ichijō.

In the anime series, she was voiced by Mikako Komatsu.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Admirable?[]

  • Since she was a child, she trained until she bled to become strong enough to protect Chitoge.
  • In "Fate", she protected Raku when Paula attacked them both, trying to ensure he was safe.
  • In "Showdown", she decides not to forcefully kiss Raku to win the challenge, instead giving him an "indirect kiss".
  • She tries to help the girls recover Raku's memory when he becomes amnesiac.
  • She takes care of Raku when he falls ill in chapter 117.
  • Although she picked Raku up unannounced for her mission in chapter 124, she only did so because Paula couldn't go at the last minute and she was desperate, and she apologizes to him for that.
  • She was willing to comply with Secaccino's demands to strip naked in order to save Raku's life.
  • She tries to help Chitoge and Raku so that Chitoge can continue living in Japan, even looking for a way to get Chitoge out of her locked room.
  • She was willing to point a gun at Claude so that Chitoge would be released.
  • She helps the group go save Marika and confronts Honda directly to buy them time.
  • Along with Honda, she faces Chika Tachibana's bodyguards so that the group can save Marika.
  • When she finally finds out that Raku and Chitoge's relationship is fake, she reacts well to the revelation, showing how much she has improved and matured.
  • She decides not to confess her love for Raku so that Chitoge can be happy with him.
  • She helps Raku and the group search for Chitoge when she flees Japan.
  • When Claude tries to kill Raku on his way to the Tenku Plateau, Tsugumi steps in to save him and fights her own adoptive father so he can reach Chitoge.
  • She leaves her life as a hired assassin behind, retiring and becoming Chitoge's model.
  • She has subverted most of her corrupting factors and is now a much calmer woman.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • Considering she's a hitman, she's too lethal to be Pure Good for obvious reasons.
  • She is quite aggressive and prone to violence, and while she sometimes hits Shuu when he deserves it, she often assaults and threats Raku without provocation. Although this is minor, as she subverts this throughout the manga from time to time.
  • She's kind of a jerk, and can be quite rude to Raku for no reason.
  • She is quite brutal, being able to destroy the surrounding environment during combats or moments of anger and put people in danger, as when she faced Honda at Marika's arranged marriage.

Trivia[]

  • Only the manga and anime versions of Tsugumi qualify as Inconsistently Admirable, as her live-action version lacks enough characterization and doesn't do anything that stands out.
