Scrooge McDuck is the main protagonist of the DuckTales 2017 reboot series. He is the world's richest duck.
He was voiced by David Tennant, who also portrayed the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who.
Unlike his original counterpart, Scrooge became extremely happy with earning his first coin by working hard.
He deeply loved his pet hairball Whiskers.
Despite being rivals with Goldie, Scrooge has warm feelings for her, which was shown on occasions like when he teamed up with her to steal big golden nugget from John D. Rockerduck, when he became extremely upset when Glomgold threw her into liquid gold, and when the two of ultimately ended their rivalry when they temporary aged back upon drinking water from the Fountain of Youth.
Background[]
Returned the deed to Duckburg from the Beagle Boys.
He and Mrs. Beakley teamed up to stop F.O.W.L., and eventually became close friends with her (Bentina even admitted Scrooge was her most trusted ally).
After stopping F.O.W.L. from obtaining the Papyrus of Binding, which rekindled his adventurous spirit, he decided to take Della and Donald on adventures with him.
Despite being the one who built the Spear of Selene, he just wanted to make a present for Della, and the remorse for this was so big that he was traumatized by this and almost went bankrupt by spending most of his fortune trying to find Della.

Forgave Huey for trying to force him to celebrate his (Scrooge's) birthday.
Made Gizmoduck protector of Duckburg.
Let yeti Tenderfeet peacefully leave his manor (mostly because Louie lied to him, since Tenderfeet was a con artist who manipulated Huey and Dewey).
Apologized to Dewey for ignoring him.
Fixed his bond with his father after learning that Fergus indirectly gave him his Number One Dime, and that Fergus berates Scrooge only because he misses him.
Revealed the information about Spear of Selene to Dewey after he endangered everyone.
Forgave Lena and offered her a place in his family if she helped his.

After Dewey visited the past, he became lesser bitter to Christmas.
Inspired by Faris D'jinn's story, he opened an exhibit at the museum.
Sent Donald on a cruise after seeing how stressful he became on their adventures (although he never ended up on the cruise).
After Della returned, he quickly forgave her for stealing Spear of Selene.

Helped Della defeat the Gilded Man.

Apologized to Della and Louie for endangering them in ImpossiBin.
He told the kids that he would never replace them and apologized for attempting to call backup.
Once again fixed his family relationship to stop F.O.W.L.
Made amends with Santa once he finds that pragmatism isn’t always the best way to go about everything.
Apologized to Flintheart, Ma Beagle and Magica for making them worse than they were, even though they were already bad people from the start.
Tried to convince Beakley to reveal the truth about Webby's origins, not wanting her to end up in the same situation he had.
Founded Missing Mysteries and stopped F.O.W.L.
Signed the Papyrus contract to save Donald from being erased by Bradford, despite knowing that Bradford wouldn't keep his word.
After finding out about Webby being his clone-daughter, Scrooge happily accepted this, viewing her as his true child.
Even thought he refused to sympathize with Bradford Buzzard, this is justified as Bradford used his hatred of Adventure as an excuse to destroy the innocent.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
He is too arrogant. This is especially shown when he was obsessed with climbing on Mt. Neverrest to expose George Mallardy as a fraud or when he didn’t believe Dewey could win the golf game just because he was better than Scrooge under the guise that Dewey had no experience and they needed to get home, but it was just a way to preserve his ego.
He has a greedy side, as he even started a bitter rivalry with Santa Claus, wanting money for gifts and coal and wanted to do a charity of pennies instead of dimes, although it could just be sensitivity for the latter. Dewey even mentions he only gives a nickel a week to them when he thought he was going to be tortured, and while it could’ve just been the heat of the moment, he still believed they were in a game which adds onto the believability,
He is extremely reckless and stubborn.
He sensed that Glomgold robbed him, while he made it look like Scrooge has a gold fever. Glomgold even said that even taking a tiny bit of Scrooge’s money would make him go nuts. To be fair, Glomgold was the main factor in his period of craziness.
He sometimes caused harm and didn't take accountability for it, like when he destroyed Duckburg with beanstalk or sent many people in space when tried to find Della without caring that they may die.
He sold Donald out to Toad Liu Hai in his scheme to bring him down. While he knew the likely outcome of it, he still had no certain way of knowing that it would work, meaning he recklessly sold his own nephew out and potentially risked the other's life off of a prediction that he couldn't be 100 percent certain of. Louie and Gladstone call him out on this before Donald comes flying out.
Once the family finds out Della was sent to the moon by the Spear of Selene, he calls them ungrateful and nothing but trouble, ignoring everything they went through in the season and even believed that it was ok to forget Della.
While he did apologize for his behavior towards Magica and clearly feels intense remorse for it, he’s never seen making up for exploiting the townsfolk after turning Magica's brother into a crow, and while he also felt remorse for doing this, that doesn't change the fact that he never makes up for this undeniably selfish act.
