Satsuki Kiryūin is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Senketsu) of the anime series Kill la Kill. She is the president of Honnouji Academy's Student Council, at the start she is set as villain who intents tries to enslave the word with the Life Fibers, but is later revealed that in reality was a conspiration to defeat her mother that was the one actually planning this.

She was voiced by Ryōka Yuzuki in the Japanese version, and Carrie Keranen in the English dubbed version.

What Makes Her Admirable?[]

  • Helped Ira Gamagori to save a boy who was being forced to jump off a roof.
  • When she discovered Hōka Inumuta hacking into the REVOCS Corporation's computer systems, she decided to give him an opportunity to work with her.
  • Creates a plan to overthrow her mother, and in the process she had to bear that her mother sexually abuses and rapes her ever since she was a child.
  • When Ragyō was making a speech, she stabs her from behind in order to prevent her plan from going through, though failing in the process.
  • Almost sacrifices her life detonating an explosion as a desperate move, causing her being captured in prison totally naked.
  • Fights an evil Ryūko in order to regain her memories and stop her brainwashed state.
  • Allows Ryūko to hit her to "be even" even though the Elite Four doesn't allow it.
  • At last, she ends up making peace with Ryūko to protect their world.
  • Satsuki, alongside Ryūko, confronts Ragyō.
  • While she did bud heads with Ryuko, she had shown no real desire to do Ryūko serious harm.
    • When Ryuko was left broken and defeated at her feet she is shown to have covered her with a blanket and left at least one piece of Senketsu with her.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • Though her motives are noble, she was shown to be a totalitarian extremist in order to achieve her goals.
  • She is a Game Changer whose presence darkens the mood of the story.
  • Constantly mocks Ryūko with no justifiable reason, to the point of making her suspect that she is the killer of her father.
  • Humiliates Ryūko by defeating her and orders other star-students to beat her up.
  • Uses Ryūko as a tool in order to rebuild Honnōji Academy's structure destroying all students who came in her way, only leaving the strongest.
  • When Nui Harime beats Ryūko and therefore destroys Senketsu, Satsuki takes advantage of this, stealing its Life Fibers, leaving Ryūko at her luck.
  • Operates the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip, taking regions and having them under her control.

  • Satsuki is currently the only character from Kill la Kill to be Inconsistently Admirable.
