Sandra Jennifer Olivia "Sandy" Cheeks is a major character in the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
She is an anthropomorphic squirrel who is one of SpongeBob's best friends. Sandy is notable for her Texan characteristics, stereotypical accent and passion for science.
She is voiced by Carolyn Lawrence.

What Makes Her Admirable?[]
- She always helps out SpongeBob, and Patrick with their problems teaching them karate to defend themselves from harm.
- She is very hospitable allowing SpongeBob, and Patrick into her home without them even asking to come in.
- In "Tea at the Treedome", she fought off a giant clam attacking her, and returned the favor to SpongeBob after he saved her from it.
- She is a voice of reason teaching the under sea critters about things like Christmas, and uses her scientific skills to benefit the world, especially nature.
- She's got a never give up attitude encouraging SpongeBob to be ready for any of the problems he faces, and is likely the reason why he's the selfless hero sponge that he is today.
- In "Pressure", she rescued SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs from two hungry seagulls even though they previously mocked her for being a land creature and dared her to remove her suit and helmet underwater.
- She helped stop many threats in Bikini Bottom, such as the Alaskan Bull Worm, though was overconfident losing in the process of defeating it.
- In SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, she, SpongeBob, and Patrick team up to defend Bikini Bottom from invading robots created by Plankton so he could steal the Krabby Patty formula, including robot versions of themselves.
- In "Squid Defense", she taught Squidward karate to teach him how to defend himself as well as calling him out when he was using it on an innocent person, and not for self defense.
- In "It Came from Goo Lagoon", she attempted to stop Plankton from floating around in a giant slime covered ball over Bikini Bottom, but lost by being outsmarted by him sadly.
- In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, she along with her friends, helped save Bikini Bottom by getting the Krabby Patty Formula back from Burger-Beard.
- In "Mimic Madness", she helped cure SpongeBob of his mocking mimicry madness by pretending to be him.
- In "Feral Friends", when Neptune's Moon turned most of the cast into feral, realistic sea creatures, Sandy worked to keep her friends safe and stop them from eating each other.
- In "Spurn N' Turf", she chased after Mr. Krabs for cutting down her tree to make a ship in a bottle being rightfully upset with him for what he did destroying her tree dome where she lives.
- In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, she went alongside her friends to the kingdom of Atlantis to bring Gary back home from King Poseidon.
- She also helped with fighting off King Poseidon's guards after SpongeBob rescued Gary.
- In Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, she saved Bikini Bottom from Sue Nahmee and stop her from cloning everyone and selling them as toys.
- In Plankton: The Movie, she, along with Pearl and Mrs. Puff, aided in helping Plankton and SpongeBob stop Karen from taking over the world.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She is on & off as she can have jerkish, arrogant and straight-up antagonistic moments towards her friends from time to time to be an NPG.
- She can be overconfident at times by telling SpongeBob to do things he's not so comfortable with doing; as evident in the episode "PreHibernation Week", she purposely puts herself and SpongeBob through extremely dangerous activities nonstop for nearly a week, which forces him into hiding.
- She is known to have a hostile temper at times, especially when SpongeBob, and Patrick made fun of her hometown Texas wanting to hurt them for all the things they said ill about the state.
- When SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs made fun of her for being a land critter, she challenged them to go on land for a full minute, which was too harsh, despite them making fun of her.
- In Survival of the Idiots, she brutally beat up SpongeBob and Patrick when they bothered her during hibernation, though in fairness, they did ignore her request not to disturb her, and she was still half-asleep, mistaking them for Dirty Dan and Pinhead Larry, two outlaws from her dream.
- In the episode Band Geeks, after Patrick kicked her, she beat him up, and when they got outside, she forced his head through a trombone, however, Patrick kicked Sandy on purpose with no remorse and Sandy wasn't sadistic at all when doing this which makes it a minor prevention.
- She can also be mischievous to further her own goals, such as purposely turning SpongeBob and Patrick against each other just to further her research in "The Fish Bowl".
Trivia[]
- She is the third SpongeBob SquarePants character to be IA after Patrick Star being the second, and was once on the unofficial NPG wiki that is now shut down in the present day until it was thought her heroism was rather standard, but isn't standard now having stood out enough in the later seasons to be IA.
- Out of all of the SpongeBob SquarePants characters on this wiki, she has the least amount of preventions from being PG or NPG.
