Flint Marko, also known as The Sandman is a supporting antagonist in the animated television series The Spectacular Spider-Man.
He was voiced by John DiMaggio.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- He befriends a little girl, scaring off some teenage bullies who were mocking her sandcastle by making it super big. While he denies he was doing it for the little girl and was just doing it to torment the teens, he was clearly saying this to save face with Hammerhead.
- He helps Spider-Man save the crew of a burning oil tanker and even saves Spider-Man himself. He also pushes all the lifeboats away from the burning boat (with the crew still in them of course) and even shields himself over the burning tanker when it explodes so the explosion doesn't kill the crew in the lifeboats and the citizens standing on the nearby beach/pier. While he doesn't die and even regenerates himself a minute later, he was still willing to put his life on the line to save others.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's a villain for most of the show. He commits various crimes, such as robbery, and even tries to murder Spider-Man on various occasions. In addition, he's even indirectly responsible for the boat exploding in the first place, as he damages it while fighting Spider-Man while he's helping Hammerhead's men steal the oil from it.
- He also never truly redeems himself, as when he does resurface after the explosion, he gives a devious smile, implying he's still a criminal, there's also the fact this was his last appearance and the show was canceled after Season 2, so we never got to know for sure if he even turned over a new leaf.
