The truth is, they don't care about who we used to be or what we wanted to do. To them, we're just slaves. But if they thought this was gonna be easy, they came to the wrong f-cking planet.
~ Sam's first lines in Serious Sam 4.
Let's get serious!
~ Sam Stone.

Samuel Herbert Stone, also known as Serious Sam or simply Sam Stone, is the titular main protagonist of the Serious Sam series of games. He is an Earth Defense Force soldier who went back in time to find and destroy the evil alien tyrant Mental and thereby save humanity from complete extermination in the future, changing the course of history.

He was voiced by John J. Dick.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • He participated in combat operations on various planets, where he opposed the villainous troops and helped some alien civilizations in exchange for their consent to participate in the battle against the Mental.
  • He and his squad arrived in Egypt in order to rescue the missing operatives.
  • He collected the necessary spare parts for the Time Machine, while killing entire armies of Mental aliens who had invaded Egypt.
  • He was saddened by the death of his friends (as well as the death of Fiona Starr, with whom he was in love), and therefore decides to go back in time himself to take revenge on the Mental for them.
  • He kills General Mental Ugh-Zan IV, thereby preventing his rule in Egypt.
  • Going to Ancient Egypt, he kills there the demon sorcerer Ugh-Zan III, whom the Mental hired to cleanse the Earth of its inhabitants.
  • Flying to Sirius, he called the Mental and promised him to deal with him.
  • He traveled to different times to find the Holy Grail and use it to deal with the Mental.
  • He killed the necromancer Mordecai the Caster, who was sent by the Mental to prevent Sam from finding the Holy Grail.
  • Having found the Holy Grail, he was already about to end the Mental in order to prevent its enslavement of the Galaxy.
  • He traveled to different planets to find parts of the amulet that would make the Mental vulnerable.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is too lethal and destructive. Although all his victims deserved it, being incorrigible alien invaders, he still admits himself that he likes to kill and dismember them. He also enjoyed destroying, as he didn't hesitate to blow up the Sphinx, even though Quinn had asked him not to.
  • He is arrogant, and tends to brag about how cool he is and belittle his enemies.
  • He has a perverted side, as he became hitting to a naked Harpy until he saw her true face.
  • He can be wrathful, because when he found out that the medallion he was collecting turned out to be a dummy, he became enraged and chased after the Council's magicians.
