~ Sam's catchphrase in iCarly: iLook Alike. |
Samantha "Sam" Puckett (born April 17, 1994) is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Freddie Benson) of iCarly and co-host of the webshow. She also appears in a spin-off, Sam & Cat, where she is one of the two main protagonists (akingside Cat Valentine).
In iCarly, she is the best friend of Carly and Freddie. She is also the ex-girlfriend of Freddie Benson and Jonah. In iTwins episode, it was revealed that she has a twin sister, Melanie Puckett. Sam and Melanie were born in a city bus, due to poor planning of her mother, Pam Puckett. The two seem different in many respects.
She was portrayed by Jennette McCurdy as a teenager, while Olivia Hosken and Harley Graham portrayed her as a child.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Admirable?[]
iCarly[]
- She's a loyal best friend to Carly being there for her when she needs the support as an amusing little sidekick, and even at one point saved her from almost falling off a raft.
- Despite seeming like a devilish criminal for her actions, she's not evil at all, and it's understandable why she acts the way she does because of living in a dysfunctional household with a bad family.
- Though having a big rivalry with Freddie picking on him for being a nerd. It's clear that she does care about him, and his safety, such as the time when he got hit by a taco truck, she went to tell Spencer immediately.
- When her best friend Carly got shoved by the bully Jocelyn. She instantly defended her friend by going full on beast mode towards the bully for messing with her bestie like that.
- Felt remorse for saying on an ICarly segment that Freddie has never kissed a girl not once before, and apologized to him for it, then even kissing him afterwards.
- She was telling the truth about Carly's old best friend Missy trying to get rid of her claiming that Carly was her best friend first.
- Happily celebrated Christmas with her friends, after the events of Carly wishing Spencer was born normal.
- Made up with her own mother Pam Puckett, even though she's a terrible parent being the reason that she had a criminal record in the first place, and still loves her thankfully going against someday ending up like her.
- Though having a habit of picking on nerds, she subverted that habit later in the series starting to respect them for who they are.
- Saved a random kid in the Groovy Smoothie by a teenage boy who threatened to bust him up.
- Offered to Carly if wanted to stay with she, and her mom after her room caught on fire, and with her friends made her a brand new room.
- Saved her friends Carly, Gibby, and Freddie from her old prison pal throwing glass plates at them, accepting that she's gone soft, but not her butter sock.
- Has helped expose Carly's main arch-nemesis Nevel for harassing them multiple times all because Carly put tapenade in his face for trying to kiss her, even trying to help his reputation when he yelled at a little girl.
- Celebrated the halfway point to Halloween with her friends called Half-oween for the iCarly fans.
- Aided in defeating Nora, and her parents from the second time trapping them in her house forcing she, and her friends to stay there forever.
- Said farewell to her best friend Carly leaving with her dad to go to Italy.
Sam & Cat[]
- Befriended Cat Valentine previously on the show Victorious when she came to Los Angeles, and decided to be her roommate after saving her from being inside of a garbage truck.
- Has helped babysit multiple kids, even one's who misbehaved causing problems for her, and Cat.
- Despite putting a slushie down a cop's pants. It was only so she should go with Cat to prison because she wouldn't survive there alone after getting caught stealing money from an ATM.
- Stopped a criminal after the cop took sleeping pills that was for Dice's monkey.
- Saved Cat about to drive the motorcycle over a bunch of dangerous tuna fish.
- Defeated Nora once again who escaped from prison, to save her friends Cat, and Dice.
- Is overall the most admirable character from the show iCarly, including her heroic deeds from the spin-off, while everyone else on the show's heroism is too standard.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- Even though she has become a better person by reforming over the course of ICarly, she has bullied various people, most notably Freddie and Gibby, on multiple occasions. Even if it’s played for laughs, it's too extreme for her to qualify as NPG since she rarely feels remorse for the pain she's caused.
- Her jerkish, arrogant, reckless, and careless moments are dialed up to eleven in Sam & Cat.
- Has many lethal moments towards other's, especially when she tackled Nevel to the ground because he was annoying her, knocking out Gibby just because he wanted to try the Canadian fat cake first, and being worse to Gibby while she was dating Freddie because she "needs someone to be mean to". Although, the first one is understandable since Nevel is constantly trying to sabotage her and her friends' lives.
Trivia[]
- She's currently the only iCarly character to be IA.
