Hmph... You've still got ways to go.
~ Ryoma Hoshi

Ryoma Hoshi is a supporting character Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.

He is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the Killing School Semester featured in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. His title is Ultimate Tennis Pro. Despite his promising career, he killed an entire mafia and became a prisoner on death row before being shut in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles. He is the victim of Chapter 2, where he agreed to be killed by Kirumi Tojo.

He was voiced by Akio Otsuka in the Japanese version while Chris Tergliafera voiced him in the English one.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • Before the events of the game, he went on a rampage, and used his tennis skills and an iron ball to murder an entire mafia out of vengeance. Despite this, it was justified, as they killed his girlfriend and parents, and would most likely kill more innocent people had Ryoma not been able to stop them.
  • He helps out in the first trial, even pointing out a flaw in Kaede's argument. His posthumous deduction is proven correct later on in the game, when the mastermind's plan from the first chapter was revealed.
  • He tries to help the other students escape the killing game through the tunnel, despite it clearly being a lost cause.
  • When Kirumi explained her situation, he respected her, then gave up his life, allowing Kirumi to kill him so she could escape and save her country.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • While letting himself be killed by Kirumi Tojo was selfless on his part, he still risked the lives of the remaining survivors in doing so had she been able to escape without being found guilty. Although he had no will to live due to his motive video (and Himiko was also going through a depressive episode), the same can't be said about everyone else. This act is too much for NPG, as not only was it lethal, but he doesn’t show any remorse for it either, although it could be due to him already having died.
