Rudolph von Stroheim is a supporting character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency. He is a self-centered Nazi officer, that eventually sides with the protagonists to stop their mutual enemies: The Pillar Men and prevent them from destroying the world.

He is voiced by Atsushi Imarouka in Japanese and Dan Woren in English.

What makes Him Admirable?

• He is honorable towards his men and has an undying loyalty for his country.
• Decided to work with Joseph to stop the Pillar Men when he saw the horrors they would commit.
• Told Joseph important information about the other Pillar Men before exploding.
• Sacrificed himself by exploding himself to stop the invading Santana.
• Got the Red Stone of Aja after being resurrected with cyborg parts.
• Used his new powers to delay Kars' break in.
• Slayed several vampires with his UV rays, and almost killed Kars with it, before he turned into "The Ultimate Lifeform".
• Stopped Kars from scaping Joseph.
• Gave Joseph his prosthetic mechanical hand after Kars slashed his normal one.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?

• He is a literal Nazi, doing many evil and amoral things, being introduced executing several people for their blood, and stays a Nazi at the end of the story. Although he came to respect Joseph enough to save his life, his partnership with him was mostly done out of pragmatism as they were both on opposing sides of the war and he knew Kars and the Pillar Men posed a bigger threat.
  • It is also worth mentioning that he shows no remorse over the fact that he was going to cut a woman's tongue off for accidently cutting him while shaving, sacrificing innocent Mexicans so that he could awaken Santana, (while also lying that if one volunteered, the rest would live) and kidnapping and psychologically torturing Robert E. O. Speedwagon for information, and possibly planning to kill him too (Had Joseph not arrived in time, or if Santana didn't break out)
• He is very egotistical and sometimes outright sadistic.
• His fighting methods are very lethal, brutal and anti-heroic.
• He dies as a proud Nazi in the Battle of Stalingrad, not even reforming whatsoever.

• He is one of the two Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency heroes to be Inconsistently Admirable, alongside Joseph Joestar.
