It's a million years too early for you to even think of catching me!
~ Rody running away from Deku

Rody Soul is the deuteragonist of the My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission movie.

He is voiced by Ryo Yoshizawa and Asisa Sekine as a child in Japanese and Ryan Colt Levy and Cristina Vee as a child in English. The former English voice actor is also the one who plays Denji from Chainsaw Man.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • After being abandoned by their father, he swore to protect his siblings and always take care of them, even becoming a thief so that he could provide for them.
  • He treats Izuku's injuries after their run-in with members of Humarise and apologizes for trying to give up the suitcase.
  • He becomes good friends with Izuku and even shares the workings of his quirk with him despite being embarrased by it.
  • After learning of Humarise's plans, he joins Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki to take them down.
  • He flies the trio to Flect Turn's headquarters despite not being fully versed on how to pilot an aircraft.
  • He rushes in to help despite being told by Deku to remain in the plane.
  • He pretends to defect and make a deal with Flect Turn which gives him the chance to run and disable the bombs while also helping Deku to keep fighting.
  • Despite being shot and beginning to bleed out, he keeps struggling to get to the key to shutdown the bombs.
  • Even after passing out, he manages to use Pino to shut down the bombs, saving 80% of the world population and also several heroes who were trying to disable them, including the top heroes of many countries.
  • Afterwards he continues to provide for his siblings and take care of them but this time with an honest job instead of theft.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is an anti-hero since his goals for committing mass thievery, were all done mostly to serve himself and his siblings more than anything else beneficial to society.
    • He steals a bike from a bartender, although the latter is implied to be a crook as well.
    • When Midoriya wants to see the case, he demands money for it.
    • Rody even attempted to sell the case to the police for 1 million Euros which Midoriya rightfully calls him out on it for the idea being crazy.
    • Although more dishonest than immoral, he tells Midoriya to ride on the roof of the bus so they don’t have to pay, and even tells him to get used to a dishonest life.
    • He steals a car, and although he left a note, the car was old, and they needed to reach Klayd, he is never seen giving the car back.
  • He gets angry at his father thinking he left him and his siblings and talks bad about him, not knowing he had died in a car accident
  • He acted incredibly jerkish to Midoriya and openly expresses his dislike for heroes, and though he tones down and becomes friends with him, he still retains his jerkish behavior.
  • He nearly got himself and Deku killed by trying to sneak off at night while Izuku is asleep , trying to hand over the suitcase to Humarise to save himself and go home, despite knowing of its importance.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only My Hero Academia IA to not be involved with U.A or Pro-Heroes in any way.
