Rodan is the deuteragonist of Monster Island Buddies. He is the best friend of Godzilla and Jet Jaguar as well as the husband of Mothra.
What Makes Him Admirable[]
Season 1[]
- In episode 11, he and Godzilla helped bring back Jet Jaguar’s dismantled body parts to Mechagodzilla, allowing him to be rebuilt
- In episode 13, he poured out Ghidorah’s fire barrier by using his wind power, allowing Godzilla and his past self to defeat him.
Season 2[]
- in episode 26, he sacrificed himself by colliding with Mecha-King Ghidorah, preventing the latter from crashing into Monster Island and destroying it/killing everyone
Season 3[]
- In episode 37, he defeated Destoroyah
- In episode 39, he helped Godzilla and Gamera defeat the superheroes that were trying to kill him
Season 4[]
- in episode 44, he brought back Mechagodzilla’s head and later gave it to Minilla, leading to the latter accidentally charging him back up and later building a dragon under his advisory that helped in the battle against Alien X (disguised as Keizer Ghidorah in episode 50).
- In episode 46, he saved the reborn Mothra (in her larva form) from getting killed by Battra. In episode 50, he picked up Godzilla (as he was about to die from his meltdown mode) under his advisory and drop him onto Keizer Ghidorah (secretly Alien X in disguise) before the alien could kill Mothra, allowing her to get to safety while also allowing Godzilla to die without killing any of the good monsters that were near him in the process
Season 5[]
- in episode 64, he and Jet Jaguar helped fend off against Biollante and Spacegodzilla, while Godzilla confronted his father Gojira.
Season 6[]
- After being told by an alternate timeline Godzilla that every moment count, he later went on to tell Battra to tell Mothra the same thing. Because of this, Mothra returned to space and saved the monsters from Monster Island from getting wiped out by the Ghidorah’s and the other bad monsters, thus preventing the bad timeline in which this happened.
Season 9[]
- in episode 117, he helped teach his baby Dorats how to fly.
What Makes Him Inconsistent[]
- He has way too many wrathful and beserker moments where he attacks someone whenever they angered him. For instances:
- In episode 40, upon finding out that Godzilla had a drunk one night stand with his crush Mothra, he later attacked him, resulting in his fire powers accidentally causing an explosion that temporarily killed Mothra as well transferring into Godzilla and making him go into meltdown mode
- In episode 55, he immediately attempted to attack his rival King Ghidorah when he revealed he had come back to life
- In episode 57, upon learning that Godzilla had come back to life and had brought back King Ghidorah (his rival) from the dead, he encouraged the other monsters to “kick his ass”.
- In episode 94, him and Jet Jaguar beat up Gorosaurus, Gigan, and Mechani Kong for winning battle of the bands after they themselves were disqualified.
- In episode 106, when he and Jet Jaguar got their mind swapped and the latter started mocking him, he began attacking **him.
- In episode 117, it’s revealed he at one point attacked Baragon at an open mike night for an unspecified reason
- He has way too many jerkish moments, most of them as a result of his short temper, or selfishness (such as when he, Godzilla, Jet Jaguar showed up univited to Gorosaurus’s house and began eating all the pork he made for the guess, all while fighting the guest)
- He is somewhat perverted as it’s shown in the series that Rodan likes to watch people having sex.

- This is the only version of Rodan to be Inconsistently Admirable.
- He, Godzilla, Lord Blundergosh, and The Space Time Pair of Ducks the only Monster Island Buddies heroes to be Inconsistently Admirable.
