Rigby is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Mordecai) of Cartoon Network's Regular Show franchise.
He is the older brother of Don, and is Mordecai's best friend. Rigby is a raccoon in his 20s. He made his debut in the pilot episode as a groundskeeper of the park.
He was voiced by William Salyers.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Despite the fact that he always drives Benson Dunwoody insane, he feels remorse for his actions considering that he is willing to fix some of the mistakes as well which makes Benson less angry in the later seasons by then.
- He is very confident and loving to Eileen considering that he initially thought Eileen was weird by then until when the series continues focusing on their relationship.
- Since he did send Skips and the other stuff to the Moon, he still needs to go to the Moon to save Skips even when he didn't want to.
- Even though Rigby hated Mordecai's relationship with Margaret early on, there were still times where he did have true caring for both of them when they break up. He also became more supportive of this crush and comforted Mordecai in "Steak Me Amadeus."
- While in the finale episodes, he assists in helping Mordecai and Pops to stop Anti-Pops.
- When Garrett Bobby Ferguson Jr. brainwashed all of the park rangers (except Mordecai, Rigby, and Thomas); he and Mordecai freed Skips and Benson from their brainwashing; and they helped Pops, Muscle Man, and Hi-Five Ghost and brings back their memories.
- While he did hate being looked like a kid for Pops' birthday, he still wanted to help getting the fuzzy dice for his birthday.
- He, Mordecai, Hi-Five Ghost, and Muscle Man were concerned about the milk challenge as Pops keeps doing the milk challenge, but he always gets sick by then.
- While he and Mordecai destroyed the house using the Wall Buddy, he did help Mordecai in stopping the Wall Buddy since Rigby was the one who bought it.
- He saved the spirit of Christmas with Mordecai as they're trying to help Santa.
- Despite the fact that they also destroyed the present before the elf gets the present by then.
- Considering that he also destroyed many things, but he is willing to fix many of those mistakes as well.
- In the movie, when he tells the truth to Mordecai, who ends up renouncing his friendship with him in disgust for lying to him for years, he chooses to fix his mistake and apologizes to Mordecai for everything and with him, he defeats Mr. Ross and saves all of time from being erased.
- Additionally, at the start of the movie, when Benson was about to fire him and Mordecai for being late for work, Rigby sacrifices their breakfast burritos and says they were late because they were out getting them for Benson to keep his and Mordecai's jobs.
- While he and the rest of the park workers did pull a very harmful prank on Muscle Man during White Elephant, it is understandable, because every year, Muscle Man pranked the park workers by giving them bad gifts. He Mordecai and Rigby by giving them sweaters laced with itching powder, Benson old dirty underwear gloves, and Pops 20-year-old ranch dressing.
- He did hate his brother, but this was because Don was always treated with respect while Rigby was not when they were kids, however it is not Don's fault either as Don only wanted to be cool like Rigby while it is not Rigby's fault either, so it is understandable. Plus, he got over his hatred as time went on and he looks at Don for help.
- He stopped the spaceship from exploding by using Benson's sandwich while Mordecai, Rigby, and the astronauts are almost killed because it was Rigby's fault.
- However as mentioned, he stopped the spaceship with Mordecai's help despite the fact he did cause this, so he was willing to fix that mistake by then.
- Despite the series' admirable standard, Rigby managed to stand out alongside his best friend Mordecai and his friend Pops.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- In Season 4-8, while he becomes a better raccoon and sheds some of his corrupting factors, he still has several villainous and immoral acts, like when him and Mordecai swap bodies, shooting a gun on high power which destroyed the Canadian Park’s room, or swapping Pops’s slow training music with fast montage music. The last one he didn’t know it would trap them all though.
- He has too many corrupting factors to be NPG:
- He is somewhat a bit too lethal, mainly from his death punch.
- He's way too mischievous in the earlier seasons for NPG, such as using "The Power" with Mordecai to con people into giving them free items.
- He lies constantly throughout the series, as his lying ruined his and Mordecai's day off when he stole and ate Benson's Grilled Cheese Deluxe and said that he bought it himself.
- He's very arrogant, as shown when he mocked Mordecai over being unable to ask Margaret out multiple times.
- He's very vengeful, as shown when he makes a date with Margaret only out of spite and revenge due to Mordecai declining Rigby's invitation to "Zombie Dinner Party".
- He believes himself to always be right, such as the episode in which Rigby and Mordecai eat too much junk food. He thought he was right for one thing and believed himself to be right all the time. It had to get to the point where another bodiless consciousness would take his body in where he admitted he was wrong.
- He has way too many moments of being a jerk, which leads to him getting punched by fellow friends and his love interest, Eileen.
- He's very willing to cheat if the situation benefits him, such as unplugging Mordecai's controller during a wager of the loser getting a haircut.
- He shows complete disrespect to his boss Benson on a daily basis.
- He is too lazy and too much of a slacker, as he sometimes buys products and makes things worse when he has to do something very simple, which makes him absurdly incompetent.
- He got Wall Buddy because he didn’t want to clean his room.
- When he was mocking Benson for not firing him and he could laze around as much as he wanted, he takes it back the moment Benson fires him, showing cowardice and also saying it was Benson’s fault for him being unable to do his job from lack of training. But from his moments of laziness on screen, all it required was watering gardens, picking up trash, and cleaning the house in a while.
- Once he gets the hat from the omelet, he immediately asks Mordecai if he could help with eating a steak and eggs meal to gain a “Raise the Steaks” shirt, ignoring the effort Mordecai and his friends put for the hat.
- A dome scientist says Rigby’s laziness is his biggest flaw.
- He forces Mordecai to do 10 solids for him, most of which include ruining his and Mordecai's double date with Margaret and Eileen, and for the final solid, he makes Mordecai do an incredibly embarrassing trick in front of everyone and records it, thus almost ending his friendship with Mordecai.
- He wants to be Player 1 in Dig Champs, and even though it's Mordecai's fault for being too hard on him, he still decides to learn the Death Punch which nearly almost kills people especially his friends as well so that he can practice winning Punchies so that he can be Player 1, causing the Sensei to close his dojo.
- During high school, when College U rejected him, he forged Mordecai's rejection letter so he could be with Mordecai forever, which not only set up the events of the whole series, but it's also the worst thing he ever did. However this is a minor prevention, since he does show remorse for it, and saying "Sorry, Mordecai.", he showed no hesitation, but is because he need to do it quickly, he lied to Mordecai because he was angry, Sherm makes Rigby angry by forcing Rigby to go to college even if Rigby doesn't want to, is also possible that Sherm is responsible for Rigby lying to Mordecai.
