Revali is a posthumous major character from the 2017 action-adventure video game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and a major protagonist in its 2020 spin-off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
He is one of the Four Champion Pilots who commands Divine Beast Vah Medoh and is one of Link's allies as well as his rival. He is a proficient user of Revali’s Gale, which are updrafts that he creates to fly into the air at any time and a talented archer who wields the powerful Great Eagle Bow. He makes his return in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity as a playable warrior. Depending on the games, Revali and the other Champions are either deceased in Breath of the Wild or in Age of Calamity he and the rest of the characters in his time live to see another day thanks to Terrako's time portals that brought the future warriors to come to their rescue.

His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Revali accepted his call to pilot Divine Beast Vah Medoh after having delayed his answer to Princess Zelda's calling.
- He looks out for Rito Village, which he regards as his home and is willing to protect it as shown when he fought off an army of monsters led by Harbinger Ganon a couple of times. While he did come close to killing a critical ally because of the scare, he managed to stop himself when Zelda arrived to stop the scuffle and does show a bit of remorse for this action; it didn't stop their rivalry between them. It should be noted that this isn't entirely the fault of Revali's or his soldiers, as they had been repeatedly attacked beforehand, so they thought they were being attacked again when they saw Terrako. In addition, when he hears of Calamity Ganon's impending return, he knows that the lives of so many people are at stake and Rito Village is no exception, so he decides to do his part in countering Ganon's attack.
- He is capable of showing respect for other warriors and their skills when it's due and he shows that he genuinely cares about his friends; showing concern for Mipha when she is tensing up for a photo shoot and smiles when she calms down, not to mention that he is very sweet to her when paired with her in battle and praises Daruk and Urbosa for their skills, as somewhat tense as his relationship is with them. He is also very respectful to Teba whenever they are together and even wants to know what his time is like and protected him from the flying Guardians. While his relationship with Terrako is briefly awkward, Revali mourns for it with the other warriors after Link and Princess Zelda were forced to fight it as it had been possessed by Malice, and after Ganon was destroyed, Revali helps in reconstructing Terrako for the princess and is happy when it became responsive and during the credits after the scene, it forms a friendship with Revali, who pets it and carries it on his back.
- At times when his friends are starting to panic, Revali remains calm and grants them reassurance when he knows that something good is happening and knows what to do when they are in a pinch.
- He is grateful enough to give Link his gale that he can use to reach high places showing that he will put his pride aside when he must do so, since it would not be of any use to himself in his spirit form.
- His opinion of Link more or less improves after the latter saves him. As much as he resented him in the beginning, he had thought it was asinine that he was chosen just because he had the Master Sword to defeat Ganon, but he knows that he just can't take Link's role away from him, even if he tried. He eventually swallows his pride and does the right thing by not actively trying to usurp Link's chosen hero task by force as he knows the consequences and stays in his place, and he eventually appreciates the role he was given. After setting sights on Hyrule Castle after Medoh is appeased, he admits to himself that Link is a better warrior, with or without wings. In Age of Calamity, he stated that he would have been just fine without Link, but it was better that he was here. He exhibits a better attitude when Purah unites the armies with the Sheikah Towers and when Link later is about to deliver the last blow, he encourages him to not screw up.
- In the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, he shows a soft spot for children, who often tend to melt his heart the most to the point of laughing and is noted to have longed to teach the next generation of warriors his skills. When he helps save Teba's son Tulin, who was lost in the forest full of monsters, he is exceptionally cordial to the young boy, encouraging him to pursue his goal to become like him stating he's "pretty good for a little kid", even though Tulin is young and inexperienced, and he ends up bonding with him. This side of Revali had improved Teba's opinion about him.
- While Revali is more on the serious side, the mood never actually darkens because of him, and he actually does manage to keep it light-hearted for the most part and has some humorous moments and there had been times where he can be enjoyable as well.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- While Revali's insecurities are the major driving force for his prideful behavior, he tends to take it too far. He is very arrogant, conceited, and can be a huge jerk at times and brags about his skills on a regular basis, with a sardonic tone. It's evident in his relationship with Link, whom he sees as inferior to himself and tends to coldly pick on him quite a lot when given the chance and isn't very supportive to him in the beginning while dubbing him a pathetic knight in their interactions. For the first part, it was easy to forgive his attack on Link due to fear of monsters, but he didn’t apologize for the attack or showed remorse. This often annoys the other Champions, and Teba isn't too pleased with it either, initially. He even makes fun of Link for being unable to reach Vah Medoh and calls all of his accomplishments asinine.
- He can get pretty argumentative and hard-headed with some members of the group, such when he harshly reminds Daruk that he came up with the idea of making a ceremony for Link to become Zelda's personal bodyguard considering that the princess's speech was in an abysmal tone. He also snarks at Hestu when he complains of the monsters roaming in the forest, despite his desire to help lead the way, saying that he can sneak around safely without carrying his maracas around.
