Red Guy is one of three main protagonists of the British web-turned-TV series, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. A red string colored monster, he acts as somewhat of a voice of reason to the group. Every episode, him and his housemates get put into dangerous situations with "teachers," who end up trying to kill them. During the web series, Red Guy escapes and tries to get Yellow Guy and Duck out with him.

In the TV series, Red Guy is put into more slice-of-life situations, however they do still take a dark turn for him and his friends. While this series focuses more on Yellow Guy, Red Guy still has a presence.

He is voiced and portrayed by Joe Pelling.

What Makes Him Admirable?

• Attempts to stop the teachers from "teaching" him and his friends, although this doesn't go to plan.
• After finding out that his world is a lie, he escapes Roy's world. While this is self-serving, he is shown to attempt to get Duck out by calling him, although this doesn't work either.
• When confronted by Roy while messing with the machine, he pulls the plug of the machine, ending Roy's torment and freeing his friends.
• Sends Warren the Eagle into Yellow Guy's brain after he retreats in there.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?

• He can be a jerk to his friends, examples including swearing at Yellow Guy, making him retreat into his own brain, being rude to the teachers even when they haven't done anything, and even fighting his own two friends.
• Is incompetent, as he is very forgetful, forgetting that there is a worm is Yellow's brain.
• Is on and off, as he started brutally fighting Yellow and Duck, despite it being over a conflict he was not involved in, and eventually succumbed to the role of the boss of Peterson's and Sons and Friends Bits & Parts Limited, firing Duck under the pressure of the teachers surrounding him.
