His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
In General[]
- He is quite noble and fair, and punishes only those who deserve it, and also always saves the innocent.
- He puts his family above all values in life, and even despite the strained relationship with his brother Thomas, he still genuinely cared about him.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood[]
- During the Civil War, he and Thomas served on the Confederate side, and on different flanks held the front line from the advance of Union Army units.
- When he finds out that Thomas's defense site is seriously attacked, he makes a dash to the hotspot to save his brother, successfully repelling enemy attacks along the way together with the soldiers of his platoon.
- As soon as he and Thomas meet and jointly repel a serious blow from the troops of the north, the command gives the order to retreat in the direction of Atlanta. The brothers realize that the line of defense they are holding now is the last line protecting their home in Georgia. They decide to desert the troops in order to hurry home to save their mother and younger brother William from the troops of the Northerners already attacking their ancestral estate.
- Upon arrival at his native estate, he and Thomas repel the attack of the arriving troops, thereby saving his mother and brother William.
- When William tries to convince his brothers that the punishment for desertion will be death, Ray persuaded him to follow with them, playing on the promise to find a way later to restore their ancestral estate and revive the family.
- His attention was attracted by a certain Mexican woman named Marisa, to whom at that time two saloon patrons began to molest dirty, after which Ray and Thomas subdued them with lead.
- He and Thomas, on the orders of Juan Mendoza, kill the criminal Devlin.
- He and Thomas went to the Navajo territory and obtained a medallion there, which was the key to the ancient treasures needed by the brothers in order to build up their family estate.
- When Sharp-Eyed was captured by the evil Colonel Barnsby, Ray and Thomas tried to save him, and eventually detained Barnsby.
- He and Thomas broke into Juarez's camp, where they defeated him, and thus saved William and Marisa.
- He and Thomas finally killed Colonel Barnsby, and also gave up the treasure, believing that it was indeed cursed.
- He sincerely repented of accidentally killing William, and his sacrifice prompted Ray to become a priest and keep his Bible. He also married Marisa to Thomas.
Call of Juarez[]
- When Ray saw that his brother and sister-in-law were dead, and his nephew Billy was with them, he mistakenly assumed that Billy was their killer, and considered it his duty to God to track down and kill the criminal.
- He killed the bandits who killed the sheriff and tried to take over the city.
- He saved the train from bandits, and continued his pursuit of Billy.
- He helped the Texas Rangers attack a farm owned by a rustler. And when it turned out that these rangers were actually bandits, he saved the farm from them.
- Realizing that Billy was not really guilty, Ray sincerely cried, believing that he had not fulfilled his duty and killed an innocent man (but in fact Billy survived).
- He began to pursue bandits in order to atone for his guilt.
- He personally attacked Fort Juarez in order to save Molly and Billy.
- In the last moments of his life, he asks God that Molly and Billy don't die because of his own stupidity.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's too wrathful and lethal for an NPG. Although almost all of his victims deserve to die, being dangerous criminals, sometimes Ray can be lethal when it is not necessary, for example, when he shot an unarmed Devlin who begged him for mercy, and this murder shocked William. Also, Ray has the highest number of kills in the game.
- He has a very strained relationship with his brother Thomas, even if they care about each other. They quarrel and fight very often, and often because they cannot share their beloved. It gets to the point where they almost killed each other, and only William's sacrifice reconciled them again.
- He can be quite arrogant, because he considers himself the only punishing hand of God.
