R.L. Stine is the overarching protagonist of the Goosebumps franchise and duology of films produced and released by Sony Pictures.

- Locking the monsters he created and wrote about in his books to protect the world from them after they all came to life.
- Warning Zach to stay away from Hannah to prevent him from accidently finding out about and releasing the monsters.
- Saving Hannah, Zach and Champ from the Abominable Snowman.
- Protecting Champ from the Invisible Boy when he attacked him and the others in the car.
- Driving the kids to safety from the Giant Praying Mantis that had attacked and tried to eat them.
- Trying to use the magic type writer to lock the monsters back in the books by typing up a new story to imprison them all once again.
