Porunga is a wish-granting dragon of Namek. He was created by Guru. Then recreated by Moori after Guru's death. He could grant up to 3 wishes and can only revive one person at a time. The latter changed after his second creation as he can now resurrect numerous people with one wish.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
Frieza Saga[]
- He revived Piccolo and sent him to Namek as wished by Krillin and Gohan.
- He sent everyone in Namek other than Goku and Frieza to Earth as wished by Dende.
- After 130 days passed after Frieza's defeat, he revived Krillin and then sent him to Earth, and revived Yamcha as wished by the Z-fighters.
- After another 130 days, he revived Tien and Chiaotzu as wished by the Z-fighters.
- For the third wish, he sent the Namekians to a new home, which is later known as New Namek.
Majin Buu Saga[]
- He granted Dende's and Vegeta's wish to restore Earth and revive Goku and Vegeta's friends and everyone who was killed by Babidi and Buu, except for the villainous individuals after Goku unleashed the Spirit Bomb on Kid Buu.
- Even after everyone of Earth lent Goku their power, Goku was still unable defeat Kid Buu with Spirit Bomb due to loss of power. So Vegeta and Dende had another wish to restore Goku's power back to normal, which he granted. After that Goku managed to defeat Kid Buu.
- All of these wishes played a crucial role in Kid Buu's defeat. If it weren't for that Kid Buu would've run amok and cause further mass genocide across the universe.
- He granted King Kai's wish to restore his planet.
Dragon Ball Super[]
- He separated Kibito Kai into Shin and Kibito as they've wished to ease the discomfort.
- He revived Piccolo after he was killed by Frieza during the Resurrection F arc as wished by the Z-fighters.
- After Moro's defeat, he granted the Z-fighters' wish to restore the planets and lives taken by Moro and his henchmen.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- All of his heroic deeds are merely done out of granting wishes to the heroes who gathered his dragon balls, effectively making him a hero by proxy. This is too corrupting for even NPG.
- He is just as likely to aid villains who have successfully gathered the Dragon Balls and summon him.
- He would've granted Frieza's wishes if he knew how to summon him and speak Namekian or force a Namekian to do it for him. Frieza successfully gathered all of the Namekian dragon balls, but didn't know about the requirements to summon Porunga.
- He granted Moro's wish to restore his powers back and to free all of the galactic prisoners. This made Moro's genocide across the universe a lot easier.
