You have failed this universe!
~ Oliver's last words to the Anti-Monitor, before sacrificing himself to stop him.

Oliver Queen is the titular main protagonist of the Arrowverse.

He was a spoiled billionaire playboy who returned after five years of being stranded on the island of Lian Yu and having gone through journey of growth and survival to become the murderous vigilante, the Hood, to atone for his and his father’s mistakes by taking down the corrupt members of Star City’s elite on his father’s list. Following the death of his best friend Tommy Merlyn in the disastrous Undertaking, Oliver adopted a no-killing oath to honor his memory and became known the Arrow. After lethally defeating Ra’s Al Ghul, he would come out of retirement to continue his crusade finally known as the superhero Green Arrow, later publicly revealing his identity to the world in a deal with the FBI to take down Ricardo Diaz. • He used his time in Earth-Prime to say goodbye to Diggle and helped Barry confront his insecurities.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is a brutal extremist especially in the beginning of his vigilante crusade where he was essentially an anti-villain willing to commit questionable and immoral acts including cold-blooded murder and torture to achieve his goals. He revokes his no-kill code that he adopted which didn't hold up anyway considering since he was still willing to torture suspects and only tried not to kill to prove to Tommy and Prometheus that he isn't a killer, rather than having actual regret and remorse for taking lives, telling Prometheus he believed they deserved to die. Of course, he would be forced to infamously reveal his true motivation being that he killed people not because he had to to, but because he wanted to and liked it. Overall, while he became better than he started, his efforts of improving were never complete or lasting, ultimately slipping back into doing some questionable and extreme acts to achieve his goals.
  • He tends to be a cold jerk even towards his closest allies and easily loses his temper. Upon discovering Rene was the mole working with Agent Watson to unmask him as Green Arrow, Oliver kicked him out without sympathy, even though Rene was blackmailed by Watson into testifying against him or he would never see his daughter Zoe again for his activities as a vigilante.
  • He can be quite arrogant and stubborn and refuse to admit his own faults at times, even comparing them to actions commited by his loved ones. When Laurel confronted him for releasing Lonnie Machin, a sociopathic murderer, into the streets, Oliver compared it to Laurel bringing her deceased sister Sara back to life through the Lazarus pit, which left her temporarily soulless and rabid, before accidentally releasing her into the city. During his intense argument with Diggle, he mentioned Diggle executing his own brother Andy. Though Diggle made the mistake of blaming Samantha Clayton's death on Oliver and regretted it immeditely afterwards, Oliver still crossed a line by mentioning Andy instead of maturely disregarding John's words as lies.
