“ | Pissing our pants yet? Boy, do I have a feeling we're getting close. Yep. It's gonna be pee-pee pants city here real soon. Now, Which one of you pricks is the leader? ... Hi. You're Rick, right? I'm Negan. And I do not appreciate you killing my men. Also, when I sent my people to kill your people for killing my people, you killed more of my people. Not cool. You have no idea how not cool that shit is. But I think you're gonna be up to speed shortly. Yeah. You are so gonna regret crossing me in a few minutes. Yes, you are. You see, Rick, whatever you do, no matter what, you don't mess with the new world order. And the new world order is this, and it's really very simple. So, even if you're stupid, which, you very may well be, you can understand it. You ready? Here goes. Pay attention. Give me your shit... Or I will kill you. | „ |

“ | What I don't get is after all these years you STILL think I'm the bad guy. I'm not! No one is! You know what, Maggie? Maybe everyone is. Ask yourself one question: How many husbands and fathers have YOU killed? | „ |

Negan Smith is a major character in The Walking Dead franchise.
He was introduced in Seasons 6 & 7 of the main series as a charismatic tyrant and leader of the Saviors, who committed numerous atrocities in the name of protecting his people and establishing "law and order". However, after being defeated by Rick and imprisoned for 6 years, he turned a new leaf and sought redemption, becoming an anti-hero from Season 9 forward.
He is also one of two protagonists in the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Dead City.
He is portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
His Good Ranking[]
Debated Validations[]
- In Season 10, when Brandon tells Negan he heard a rumor about him shooting Carl, Negan gets defensive and says he'd never hurt a kid. However, in Season 7, he bombed Alexandria (which had kids in it) and was moments away from killing Carl with Lucille before Shiva intervened and saved him. While it was clear he was hesitant to do both and felt he had no other choice, he still went through with the former and would gone though with the latter, making him a hypocrite.
- There is heavy debate on whether or not Negan is a rapist. While he never sexually assaulted anyone, and states multiple times that he's for consent and would never force anyone to do something they didn't want to, he also had multiple wives, all of whom were only married to him out of obligation, or to escape the horrible conditions of working beneath him.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's very lethal and sadistic, as he has no problem killing people that he believes deserve it, and he enjoys doing so.
- He has committed crimes far too heinous, like sadistically bashing open Glenn and Abraham's heads, extorting the communities, and taking advantage of vulnerable women to be his wives.
- Even after his redemption he still acts like a jerk to people, like making fun of Father Gabriel for his partial blindness and calling Glenn a dog in front of Maggie.
Trivia[]
- He is currently the only character from The Walking Dead to be both Inconsistently Admirable and Inconsistently Heinous.
