NOTE: This page is only about the movie version of Napoleon Dynamite, as his TV show incarnation was not voted Inconsistently Admirable, and thus only the information about the movie version of Napoleon Dynamite and his heroic deeds should be put here.

Lucky!
~ Napoleon Dynamite to Kip and LaFawnduh at the end of their wedding in the post-credit scene.
Tina, you fat lard! Come get some dinner! Tina, eat. Eat the food. EAT THE FOOD!
~ Napoleon Dynamite's famous line.

Napoleon Andrew Dustin Dynamite, Sr., or most preferably Napoleon Dynamite, is the titular main protagonist of the film of the same name and its animated series.

He is a 16-year-old student of Preston High School in Idaho, having been outcast by several of his acquaintances due to his shy awkward personality to be social towards others, and over-exaggerate on several occasions as opposed to being quiet most of the time. He finds happiness in himself and others when he successfully dances in front of the wowing crowd for Pedro's school president election, and re-establishes his friendship with Deb.

He was portrayed by Jon Heder.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable[]

  • When he first meets Pedro, he right away makes friends with him by making him feel welcome by showing him where his locker is and hanging out with him afterwards after school by doing bike tricks.
  • After Deb leaves her briefcase at Napoleon’s house after dumb albeit hurtful insult from Napoleon’s brother Kip she leaves, the day after he takes her briefcase to school to return it to her, even sitting at her lunch table.
  • While he was reluctant to do so and just ends up throwing it onto the floor, he still does his best to feed his grandma’s llama Tina not just once but twice, showing that although he may get annoyed with grandma occasionally, he still cares for her.
  • After Kip sees an commercial for a self-defense commercial on tv, he willingly gives him a bike ride over there and despite not standing up for him when he was being taunted by Rex and not standing for himself as well, he didn’t do so to avoid getting in further hot water with Rex, and once again giving him a bike ride back to their house.
  • After Pedro tells him that he intends to ask out Summer Wheatley to the dance he helps him out by going alongside him to her house to leave her cake on her front door, which she presumably just threw away after he became apparent that she wasn’t interested in Pedro.
  • After knowing that Pedro is going to the dance with Deb, he decides to ask out Summer's friend Trisha by drawing her a picture of her and then mailing it to her house, as a sign of admiration to her, and even though the picture ending up looking bad it was still a nice gesture.
  • After Pedro asks Napoleon if he’d vote for him as class president he responds by saying, “Heck yes, I’d vote for you.”, and surely enough he helps him out in his presidential campaign for the school by putting flyers all around the school and even gifts Deb’s handmade keychains to the other students at school to get them to vote for Pedro.
  • He alongside three other boys go to a farm and help out the farmers with farm chores primarily putting the chickens inside the chicken cages in the farm.
  • When he sees Summer, Trisha, and Summer's boyfriend Don handing people flyers for Summer's campaign and Don tells him to vote for Summer, he right away tells him no and that he’s voting for Pedro showing that he is 100% loyal to him.
  • After he finds out that Pedro cuts off his all his hair due to his head feeling hot, he takes him to Deb’s house so that he can get a wig to cover his bald head.
  • After witnessing a nerdy kid being bullied by his frequent bully Randy, he goes up to him and asks if he's okay, even giving him another one of Deb’s keychains and tells that Pedro offers him his protection.
  • In the day of the presidential speeches, he realizes that Pedro is more than likely not going to win, and after finding out that they need to perform a skit after Pedro’s speech, he quickly gives the tape mix that Lafawnduh’s cousin made to the sound guy to play after Pedro’s speech and decides to use his new dance moves that recently learned, which end up working as the audience gives a roaring applause to Pedro who ends up winning the election.
  • After all that he takes walk and notices Kip with his new girlfriend Lafawnduh at the bus station about to go on a trip together, even giving him a smile, which is surprising since he never really smiled in the movie, which shows that although he may fight with his brother from time to time, he still cares for him and is happy that he has finally found his soul mate.
  • In the final scene of the movie he plays tetherball with Deb and says that he caught her a delicious bass showing that he also cares for Deb just as much as he cares for Pedro.
  • In the post credits scene, he makes a surprise entrance to Kip and Lafawnduh’s wedding on a horse which he got for them for their honeymoon, once showing how he cares deep down for his brother despite their usual feuds.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He has does have his jerkish moments from time to time.
    • He frequently fights with Kip such as when he slaps Kip when he tries to prove that he is better than Kip at fighting and then after he finds out that Uncle Rico went Trisha’s house to offer her mom a business deal, he takes his anger out on Kip by putting him in headlock and even making his mullet bleed.
    • Despite still caring about her, he can also be disrespectful to his grandma even when his grandma simply just asked him how school was, and responded by saying that “it was the worst day of my life.” And also being reluctant to feed her llama, even throwing the food onto the floor out of anger after she refuses to eat.
    • When his Uncle Rico arrives to their house to take care of them he isn’t happy and when Rico shows them a video that he had recorded of him pretending to play football by himself, he calls it “the worst video ever made.”
    • After Uncle Rico lies to Summer and Trisha about Napoleon telling him to give them a flyer for a breast enhancement program, everyone at school sticks bust must plus flyers on locker as a form of teasing, and because of this he decides to get back at Uncle Rico by throwing oranges at his car window and even going as far as to throw an orange at him, and on top of that he also elbows him in the stomach after Rico throws to the ground and puts him in a headlock. And while it was somewhat justified, because Uncle Rico was being a massive jerk and he goes as far as to assault his own nephew and only stopping after he gets elbowed in the stomach by him out of self-defense, it was still a jerk thing to do.
    • He is also shown lying to Pedro and Deb about skills and a “girlfriend” that he clearly doesn’t have just to impress them.
