Murray is the tritagonist of the Sly Cooper video game franchise and a childhood friend of Sly Cooper and Bentley, having met them during his stay in Happy Camper Orphanage. He acts as the muscle of the Cooper Gang, and sometimes as a getaway driver with his beloved van. Although he started off as the simple and timid getaway driver, this changed drastically between the first and second games, where he becomes a fearless fighter who throws himself in dangerous situations just for the thrill of it.
He was voiced by Chris Murphy.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- He helped Sly throughout his missions during the Thievius Raccoonus, getting keys for him when Sly couldn't in order to reach the next member of the Fiendish Five.
- Helped Sly every time he needed his superior strength on their adventures, which happened often.
- Defeated Rajan, putting an end to his spice business, which would be used for mind control.
- Used a tank to get rid of Neyla's rival tanks in order to make the heist to steal the Clockwerk eyes easier.
- When Carmelita shot down the blimp Bentley was in and attempted to get away with one of the Clockwerk eyes, Murray disabled her tank and got away with the eye before it was too late.
- When Bentley had gotten crushed by Clock-La, Murray lifted its mouth up and saved Bentley before he died in the explosion.
- He retires from being a thief and temporarily leaves the Cooper Gang after the events of Sly 2 because he blamed himself for Bentley being crippled.
- He decided to seek a peaceful life with his master Guru and help him solve problems around the world.
- Allowed Sly to escape Carmelita when he was being pursued by her in Venice by opening a sewer grate for him.
- Defended Bentley when Octavio kicked him out of his wheelchair, being willing to break his code with the Guru to protect him.
- Defeated Octavio, who wanted to destroy Venice by polluting its waters and bombing buildings.
- Protected a plane that Sly needs for the contest against Muggshot.
- Helped Sly take down pirate ships with a rowboat, while Sly destroyed the ships with a cannon planted on it.
- He and the other members of the Cooper Gang helped Cooper get into the Cooper vault.
- When Bentley felt as if Sly treated him and Murray as second fiddles, Murray reassured him, telling Bentley that Sly saw them as a team and nothing less.
- He and Bentley then held off Dr. M as much as they could before he managed to escape and go after Sly.
- Trains Bob Cooper so he'll get back in shape.
- Fought and defeated Grizz.
- After Sly disappears at the end of Thieves in Time, he and Bentley go looking for him, and never gave up.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He can be somewhat mischievous at times.
- His aggression can make him a little too wrathful or violent sometimes during his fights, like threatening to floss his teeth with Octavio's spine.
- Fed eight miners and a flashlight guard to a giant crocodile in Honor Among Thieves so it would acquire a taste for them. While this was Bentley's plan, he clearly enjoyed doing it, having enthusiastically approved of it and made some sadistic remarks every time he fed a guard to the crocodile.
- Helps Sly steal from non-criminals from time to time.
Trivia[]
- Murray was considered Near Pure Good for a short while, but it was decided he had too much of a lethal and sadistic side to qualify.
