Mothra is one of the three titular kaiju protagonists (alongside King Ghidorah and Baragon) of the 2001 film Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All out attack.
In the past, she was slain by anicient Japanese warriors and laid to rest underr Lake Ikeda. Alongside Baragon and King Ghidorah, the warriors prayed for her soul so that one day they would come to protect Japan. Thousands of years later, she was awakened by a prophet named Hirotoshi Isayama (whom empowered her with the souls of Japan’s honorable dead) in order to protect Japan from Godzilla.
Her Admirable Ranking[]
What Makes Her Admirable[]
- Saved a puppy from getting drowned
- Sacrificed her life in order to prevent Godzilla from attacking several JSDF battleships
- Transferred her energy into King Ghidorah and revived him as the ten thousand year old dragon.
- As a spirit, she went inside Godzilla’s body and dragged him underwater, allowing Taizo Tachibana to sail the Satsuma and fire a D-03 Missile inside Godzilla and open a gaping wound on his neck, culminating in Godzilla destroying himself when he fired his atomic breath.
What Makes Her Inconsistent[]
- While she was willing to work with the humans and at certain points went out of their way to protect them, it’s stated that her and other guardian monsters main goal/priority was protecting Japan itself (as in the land and the environment) from getting destroyed by Godzilla rather than the people living there
- She can be wreckless as shown during her fight with Godzilla, where she flew by a building with some soldiers it while trying to doge Godzilla’s atomic breath, causing them to get hit by it
- She can be slightly lethal as shown in her introduction where she kills a bunch of teenage who were intruding on her shine and trying to drown a puppy.
Trivia[]
- This is the only version of Mothra to be inconsistently admirable.
