His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Although he did create a new version of the genophage, it was only because he knew there was the possibility that the krogan would reproduce to the point that they could be a danger to the galaxy, and he only made a new version of the genophage to make sure the krogan wouldn't go extinct.
- He is a selfless scientist and doctor who helped dozens of people by builting a clinic on Omega before the events of the second game.
- In his first appearance, he helps cure a plague that was infecting many people on Omega, saving countless lives in the process.
- He is one of the nicest characters in the series, being very friendly and loyal to Shepard trought the games.
- He can spare his former assistant, Maelon, even after he did very cruel experiments on several krogan females to make them fertile.
- He can keep Maelon's data so it could help the krogan in the future, despite everything he did.
- He helps Shepard defeat the Collectors alongside the rest of his team.
- He helps Shepard and the krogan save Eve from Cerberus and give a chance to cure the krogan genophage.
- It's made clear through his audio logs that he planned to teach children about chemistry after curing the genophage.
- He deeply regrets creating a new version of the genophage, to the point that he risks his life to fix that mistake.
- He can sacrifice himself to cure the genophage, which allowed the krogan to be able to reproduce and saving them in the process, which also helps Shepard in the fight against the Reapers later on.
- Overall, Mordin is one of the most admirable characters in the series due to his sacrifice and saving countless people with his technology.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He created a new version of the genophage, which made the krogan unable to reproduce and ruined the lives of the entire species in the process to stop a war between the krogan, which makes him an extremist. However, Mordin would deeply regret this, and would try his best to fix that mistake, to the point that he was willing to sacrifice himself to cure the genophage.
- His most pivotal inconsistency is his lethalness, he disagrees with mercy and would tell Shepard that he should have killed the vorcha mercenaries who held his assistant, Dr. Daniels, hostage. He is also known to be ruthless towards his enemies, to the point that Aria T'Loak (an asari crime lord) would start to like him for this.
Trivia[]
- Mordin is, so far, the only Mass Effect hero to be Inconsistently Admirable.
