How 'bout now, Benson?
~ Mordecai asking Benson if he and Rigby look cool in their new outfits.
WOOAAAH!
~ Mordecai's catchphrase.
Muscle Dad is right! Finding the right person is hard. You know, for a while, I've been telling myself there's no such thing as soul mates, but now I'm not so sure. Look at Muscle Man and Starla. It's like they were designed for each other. So where's my soul mate? Are they in this room? It could be anyone. Maybe it's you. Maybe it's that really old lady, I don't know! I don't know if there's one perfect person out there for me, but I know that for a long time, I've been ignoring my gut. Because I didn't wanna hurt anyone, but instead of saving their feelings, it's just made everyone around me miserable. For the first time, I'm gonna take Rigby's advice. CJ, I need to tell you--
~ Mordecai's infamous speech at Muscle Man's wedding.

Mordecai is one of the two protagonists (alongside Rigby) of the 2010 Cartoon Network animated series Regular Show, and Regular Show: The Movie.

He is a 23 (later 24)-year-old blue jay who works as a groundskeeper at the park but often like to slack off with Rigby.

He is voiced by J.G Quintel, the creator of Regular Show.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • He feels bad for Rigby or Benson at times.
    • This is only because he abuses Rigby by punching him and always get Benson involved in trouble.
  • When he did cause some of the danger, he is willing to fix it, especially by trying to save the world and he takes responsibility for it.
  • Even if he doesn't have a brother, he still thinks Rigby is like his brother.
    • He is also willing to hang out with Rigby even though Rigby has been a bad friend at times.
  • While he was in love with Margaret in the earlier seasons, after when he got a new girlfriend, he didn't want to tell the truth, otherwise, it would hurt Margaret's feelings so Mordecai didn't want to tell the truth. However, they broke up after telling the truth but they're not mad and they'll rather be best friends, so it is understandable.
  • When he screwed up his relationship with CJ, he's willing to fix it.
  • He assisted Pops save the universe from Anti-Pops.
  • He assisted helping Santa and the others destroying a very evil Christmas present by a elf.
  • He saved the park rangers from being brainwashed with Rigby's assistance after when they went to the future.
    • He also redeemed Benson and Skips after being brainwashed when they almost killed Mordecai and Rigby.
  • He assisted in helping Rigby stop the spaceship from exploding using the sandwich.
  • He saved Skips from being attacked by a monster in the moon with the Park Rangers.
  • While he played hard on Pops on wrestling, they were only playing wrestling.
  • He's concerned about Pops when he didn't finish the milk challenge.
  • He helped the park rangers get the fuzzy dice for Pops' Birthday.
  • He tried to stop the wall buddy with Rigby's assistance.
    • While Rigby likely screws many things up in the earlier seasons, he tried stopping most of them with Rigby's assistance.
  • While he did leave Rigby behind in the movie and briefly ended his friendship with him, this was justified because Rigby revealed he had selfishly forged his acceptance letter into college by falsifying the information on it to make it look like he got rejected in order to stay behind and remain friends with him.
  • Even though he pulled a very harmful prank against Muscle Man, it is because Muscle Man pranked him and Rigby by giving them very itchy sweaters, he gave Benson old dirty underwear, he gave Pops something that is very smelly, so it is understandable why he put a very harmful prank on Muscle Man considering that this is not really a corrupting factor.
  • He wanted Rigby and Don to fix their mistakes after when Don steals Rigby's life while he didn't purposely meant to and Rigby is selfish to him while he didn't even knew Don only wanted to be just like him.
  • Unlike the other characters of the series, Mordecai managed to pass the admirable standards along with Rigby and Muscle Man.
  • Even at his worst, he's usually portary far more heroic than Rigby, Benson, and Muscle Man.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He frequently abused Rigby (especially in the earlier seasons), constantly punching him for little to no reason, or simply when Rigby annoys him.
    • One of the worst moments of this was when he jinxed Rigby and refused to show any bit of mercy, even when he had to speak. He would chase him around, stalk him, and also even got Skips to make sounds count and chase him around too. Even when Rigby turned the tables on him, he just told him to shut up and punched him just because he now had to endure Rigby.
  • He constantly disrespected his boss, Benson, but not on the level of Rigby.
  • He's mischievous and enjoys breaking the rules, sometimes specifically to upset Benson. Which can make him extremely reckless sometimes, endangering the Park and its residents on several occasions as a result of his shenanigans.
  • He's a slacker who doesn't like working and will take every opportunity he has to be as lazy as possible (though not as badly inept as Rigby is), sometimes even making others do the work for him.
  • While Rigby was acting like a massive jerk at the time, Mordecai still acted very jealous after Rigby managed to land a date with Margaret, but refused to admit it, so he decided to burn all the clocks in the house using the microwave so Rigby wouldn't know what time it was and would miss his date. This resulted in both of them being teleported inside the microwave and while being transported to Father Time's dimension, he angrily killed Rigby by pushing him into the void. It took Father Time having to show him the error of his ways to show him how he messed up. Though he does show remorse for this and the episode "Diary" shows he's learned from this mistake, making this a minor prevention.
  • He refused to listen to Rigby when Rigby told him to not give Margaret's sweater to her as he just got over her, and when Rigby calls him a "sad-sack chump", Mordecai kicks him out of Muscle Man's car and continues to drive to Margaret's college.
  • During Muscle Man's wedding, he thoughtlessly interrupts the celebration just to tell CJ something but she presumes he is going to dump her, which hurt her. According to Matt Price, one of the writers, not only does he never see or talk to CJ again after this, but also everyone else Mordecai was associated with.
