I had no friends... and I just felt so alone and so scared but I saw you on the swings and you were alone too. You were just swinging by yourself and I just walked up to you and I asked... I asked if you wanted to be my friend. And you said yes. You said yes. It was the best thing I've ever done. | „ |

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too jerkish to be even Near Pure Good:
- He unfairly accuses Eleven of lying when he thinks Will is dead, and continues to berate her when she tries to find Will on the radio, even telling her that Lucas was right about her. He also doesn't apologize when he learns Will is in fact alive.
- He acts very rude and jerkish to Max during the whole of season 2, irrationally believing she is trying to take Eleven's spot. He becomes upset at Max's presence in Halloween despite Will not having a problem with it and Lucas and Dustin having fun, childishly claiming she's ruining the best night of their lives. He continues to act rudely to Max, and blames her for Dart's escape. Even on Season 3 after Eleven is back in the party, he still acts rudely to Max, though to be fair, Mike and Max were both guilty of treating each other terribly in season 3.
- He acts bored and does not take Will's Dungeons & Dragons campaign seriously leading him to leave. He gets into a fight with Will and rudely states it's not his fault Will doesn't like girls, leading Will to leave and destroy Castle Byers, though he attempts to apologize afterwards. He acts distant to Will after he leaves Hawkins only calling him a few times. Then he gets into another argument with Will at rink-o-mania regarding how distant they've been.
- He makes an offhand comment about Eleven's actions.
- He has a side of brutality to him, which is showcased when he gets in a physical fight with Lucas after finding out El was scrambling the compasses. He yells at El and angrily asks what is wrong with her after she uses her powers on Lucas. Furthermore, he initially refuses to make amends with Lucas.
- He can be dishonest as he continues to lie to El when he stumbles upon her in the Starcourt Mall.
Trivia[]
- He is the only member of the Party to be Inconsistently Admirable due to having way more corrupting qualities than the rest of the group.
