Meliodas, also known as the Dragon Sin of Wrath, is the main protagonist of the manga/anime/light novel series The Seven Deadly Sins and the overarching protagonist of the sequel Four Knights of the Apocalypse.
He is the captain of the titular group of warriors, former leader of the Ten Commandments, the older brother of Zeldris, the eldest son of the Demon King, and the lover (later husband) of Elizabeth Liones.
His emotionless self also serves as the final antagonist of the Corand arc and the main antagonist of the New Holy War arc.
He is voiced by Yūki Kaji in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Bryce Papenbrook in the English dub. Both of whom also voice his brother Zeldris and Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan.

- His Assault Mode, which has him becoming much more violent and ruthless than normal and being driven solely by his wrath, generally isn't linked towards his normal mindset as it is a result of him unleashing his demonic powers from when he led the Ten Commandments.
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Felt intense remorse for accidently destroying Danafor in his past as a result of letting his wrath and anger get out of control.
- Had been working to reunite himself with the other members of the Seven Deadly Sins even before Elizabeth had met him in her own quest to do so.
- Fighting Hendrickson in order to stop him from overthrowing the Kingdom of Liones and killing him along with the other sins.
- Dedicating his entire life to protecting Elizabeth (as a result of the curse she bears that causes her to continuously reincarnate and reunite with him in every life she lives, only for her to end up dying right in front of Meliodas himself).
- Breaking the curse on him and Elizabeth that caused them both to be reunited in every life the latter would live due to the reincarnation cycle she was trapped in, but have Elizabeth once again die right in front of Meliodas.
- Killing the Demon King and saving the kingdom of Britannia after it was possessed by the king in his final attempt to kill the Seven Deadly Sins.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- His wrath is so intense that it had actually caused him to completely destroy the Danafor Kingdom in his past when he let it get out of control.
- Frequently gropes Elizabeth and can be very perverted (however, this is usually played for comedic moments, making this a minor prevention).
- His treatment of Zeldris in his past is what caused the latter to develop his deep hatred for his brother in the first place and how how turned out later in the future.
- He, along with the rest of the Seven Deadly Sins, showed no response when Gloxinia murdered numerous failing contestants in the festival.
Trivia[]
- He, Merlin and Arthur Pendragon are currently the only Seven Deadly Sins to be inconsistently admirable.
