~ Meggy upon arriving in Port Aurora. |
Meggy Spletzer is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Luigi) of the Australian adult-animated web series SMG4 and the main protagonist of its spin-off Sunset Paradise.
She was a tomboyish inkling, who was very competitive and loved doing sports, specially her favorite one, Turf War. While originally in bad terms with Mario, she eventually turns in one for his closest friends, and is the person which Mario is more kind and affable towards, even more than his brother, Luigi. She was turned in a human by Francis in the Anime Arc, when he succeed all of her ink.
She was voiced by Lizzie Freeman until 2022, and is currently voiced by Elsie Lovelock, who also voiced Uzi Doorman in Murder Drones.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Admirable?[]
- She is usually nice to others, and tries to improve herself in this aspect.
- She often helps her friends.
- She helped fight against Waluigi.
- While she rejected Bob's redemption and forced him to leave its understandable as he was a traitorous jerk and the statues aren't enough to fix there relationship.
- She redeemed the Anti-Cast (and one of them even made it up to be pure good), and convincing them to fight SMG3.
- Defeating Sir Benedict Cumbersnatch, and saving Port Aurora in the process. She even tried to save him from blowing himself up.
- Resurrected Auri Bori with the Phoenix Egg.
- She was willing to sacrifice herself in the Anime Arc so the others could escape and defeat Francis, and this resulted in her turning in a human and her life being saved.
- Rescued Mario from falling off a skyscraper.
- She helped fighting against Niles and saving the multiverse.
- After Axol's demise, she noticed how hard it affects Melony since she had no other options left besides putting him out of his misery to defeat the possessing Niles. Knowing what it felt like to lose someone (in her case, Desti), Meggy makes herself available if Melony needed comfort and someone to confide to if she becomes distraught over the tragedy.
- In SMG4: REVELATIONS, she helped evacuate people to safety in the bunker, including the octoposse.
- Before her death in Lawsuit Arc she told Mario that she is glad she met Mario and hugged him while going out with a smile.
- She used Parody Contract to destroy Lawyer Kong's Super DMCA and, thus, stopping SMG4's OC's genocide.
- She hides the Parody Contract under Mario’s cap before her temporary death so Mario can deliver it to Kirby.
- She and SMG4 saved Mario's life by getting back his liver that Bob stole and sold to Wheeler.
- She tried to get SMG4 to celebrate MAR10 Day with his friends, and when he goes on a destructive rampage after the wifi was disconnected, Meggy comforted a distraught and heartbroken Mario after realizing he wanted to award SMG4 as a way of saying thanks for being his best friend.
- Later on, she becomes a coach to motivate and encourage people to never give up.
- With the help of Tari, she saves all of her friends from One-Shot Wren's simulation world. She also shows some sadness and sympathy when Wren dies despite everything he did, even saying that she wished that they could be friends, understanding what it’s like to be rejected.
- In "War Of The Fat Italians 2024", she was able to convince Mr. Puzzles to give up on his plans, thus freeing her friends from his brainwashing.
- Even though she did act friendly towards Mr. Puzzles to trick him, she truly did sympathize with him and hoped he eventually would change for the better.
- While SMG4 and Melony is more admirable than her, they have bigger resources.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- There are once too many moments where she is pretty arrogant and even a jerk.
- She can be incredibly mischievous at times.
- She has severe anger issues, as even though she is the mostly tolerant and comfortable of Mario’s stupidity among their friends, she still has her moments of getting mad at him to the point of attacking him brutally.
- She was too obsessed with Splatfests, which has gone to the point where she would force her friends into training for one against their will like Mario for example.
- A lot like Saiko, she sometimes encourages Tari to act violent and belligerent to assert dominance, even if Meggy would do this just for wanting the best for her.
- She is On & Off, as she acts like antagonistic (or even the main antagonist of a episode), like in "There's Something Up With Meggy...", she tries to kill Mario and Luigi even they were trying to help her. She also did some other immoral things with the rest of the Gang.
- In "SMG4 Gets Sued" she "fed" one of Nintendo's ninjas with many mushrooms, what made him explode. While Meggy did it to protect Mario, it still was very brutal. to put spice on it her reckless behavior lead to Lawyer Kong having a grudge on SMG4 and the events of lawsuit arc which SMG4 called her out on.
- In "Meggy Learns Japanese" when the waifu street characters tried to teach her Japanese, she brutally attacked one of them due to her hatred of anime.
- In the War of the Fat Italians 2024, while she did sympathize with Mr. Puzzles, she really only did it for her own sake and was not really interested in him and did not even feel remorse when he was hit by Mario (although in the end she did care about Mr. Puzzles and hoped he could change for the better).
Trivia[]
- She was originally going to be a one shot character, only being brought back as a significant character due to popular demand. Had this not been done, she wouldn't be IA, let alone a hero.
