Megatron or sometimes known as Galvatron is a supporting protagonist turned main antagonist of the Unicron Trilogy.
His Good Ranking[]
In General[]
- He used to be an brilliant military cadet prior to forming the Decspticons where even Optimus Prime admits he was an good one according to his bio.
- While he did team up with the Autobots to defeat Unicron out of pragmatic reasons, it later becomes genuine later on.
- Despite the high Admirable Standards of the Unicron Trilogy, Megatron stands out for giving up his life to defeat Unicron twice allowing him to stand out and pass the admirable standards.
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
Transformers: Armada[]
Anime[]
- He helps the Autobots in their fight against Unicron after Starscream's death made him realize Unicron was an genuine threat.
- While he wasn't swayed at first to send an rescue party to a scout team at Unicron, he was swayed to do so after the Autobots' human allies convinced him to do so and admitted he kinda see why Optimus sees in humans a bit.
- While he did leave Thrust to die, it was well deserved for his crimes.
- He helped Optimus Prime travel inside of Unicron to save the Mini-Cons and humans to put an end to Sideways.
- While he did turn on Optimus Prime when Unicron was seemly dead, he subverts it when he realized as long he lives he would give enough evil for Unicron to feed on. While Optimus Prime refused it, he cuts himself loose to be killed and congrats on his opponent before seemly dying.
Dreamwave Comic[]
- When Unicron sent his minions to invade his universe he helps defend his reality by dealing with Generation One Galvatron.
- Much like his Anime counterpart he teams up with the Autobots to fight against Unicron and didn't require Starscream to die here.
Transformers: Energon[]
Anime[]
- Much like Armada he teams up with the Autobots to fight Unicron once again and when the chaos bringer attempted to posssess him he throws himself into an sun to defeat him once and for all.
Dreamwave Comic[]
- He helps the Autobots fight against the Terrorcons if they help him restore his spark to his body and wasn't out of pragmatism nor turned on them later on since the comic was canceled before it can happen.
Universe Comic[]
- Helped hold off guards to allow many Transformers to escape the Cauldron.
- When he returned to his ally he willingy helps Optimus Prime fight Unicron knowing he is threat thus not requiring Starscream to die, even after his return in alternate version of Energon the Autobot-Decepticon Alliance still held.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He looses all of his redeeming qualities and becomes an Pure Evil Villain by the events of Transformers: Cybertron where he tried to destroy and remake the universe in his own image while disregarding all remaining care for his troops and left them all to die.
- Even then if Transformers: Cybertron didn't happen, and he didn't become Pure Evil, his crimes in Armada and Energon are WAY too severe to make him PG or NPG for the following reasons:
- He shocked Alxis, Rad, Carlos, Billy, and Fred while showing sadism to make Optimus Prime give up the Mini-Cons in the Armada Episode Confrontation.
- Attempted to blow up the Earth with the Hydra Canon in Armada.
- Attempting to weaponize Unicron in Energon originally.
- He spent a majority of the time as an Villain in Armada and Energon only having a small time of being an hero that isn't enough to undo his crimes.
- Even when not factoring his crimes or becoming Pure Evil he still has way too many corruptions to be PG or NPG:
- He is far too lethal as while killing G1 Galvatron was justified, he killed some Autobots brutally.
- Has too many jerkish and arrogant moments towards multiple characters.
- He abused some of troops at times.
- In the Armada Comic he turns on Optimus Prime once Unicron was dealt with unlike his Anime version who subverted it.
- He pressured Optimus Prime to restore his body by showing him footage of the Terrorcons in the Energon Comic and he would've turned on the Autobots if the Dreamwave Energon Comic wasn't been canceled.
- Him helping the Autobots to defeat Nemesis Prime was out of sheer pragmatism for survival.
- The version of him who appeared in the Universe Comic for unknown reasons returned to villainy by time of the events Transformers: Cybetron happen where he adopted in a gator beast body to terrorize an town and eventually was killed by Optimus Prime according to Ask Vector Prime in a final duel.
Trivia[]
- Megatron is one of the few Inconsistently Admirables to be an Pure Evil being Light Yagami, Dr. James Sheridan, Griffith, Prince Dios, King Edward V, and Sentinel Prime. He and Sentinel Prime are the only ones to be from Transformers.
- He is also the only version of Megatron to both be an Inconsistently Admirables and an Pure Evil so far.
- He and Peter David Megatron are the only versions of Megatron to not have a Heroes Wiki Page.
- Even if going by following by the Japanese Unicron Trilogy Megatron would still be Inconsistently Admirable as his crimes in Armada and Energon would still be too much to make him PG or NPG, not to mention he never got a proper redemption in Energon and Transformers: Galaxy Force was later retconned into it's continuity later on anyways.
- His PS2 Game, and Armada Novelization versions aren't Inconsistently Admirable due to them never adapting his heroism and his admirable acts.
