~ Mary's catchphrase. |
Mary Poppins is the main protagonist of the fantasy movies Mary Poppins and its sequel Mary Poppins Returns. She is the charming nanny from the skies who floats down to save families in need.
She was played by Julie Andrews in the original film and Emily Blunt in the sequel.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Admirable?[]
- Throughout the films, she takes the kids (Jane and Michael in the first film, John, Anabelle, and Georgie in the second film) and other adults on adventures that teach them about life and how to enjoy it.
- She is shown to be omniscient, setting all these people up for heroism.
- Because of her actions, the Banks family (both children and grandchildren) were able to stop having fights over nannies and chinabowls and instead fly kites and balloons and be happy. She may be strict, but only because she does not want anyone to get hurt.
- She helped Mr. Dawes become happy, even if he died doing it (he was almost 100 years old).
- Most of all, she helped the other heroes expose Mr. Wilkins in the second movie and fire him, who was stealing rich people's houses and making them homeless. This includes the Banks house.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She has a bitter and emotionless personality, demanding respect from everyone, and can be sarcastic too.
- She essentially commits an act of gaslighting
- She can be egotistical, like when she blew all the useless nannies away to replace them with herself, and refused to explain herself to Mr. Banks. Her personality flaws are too everpresent to be Near Pure Good.
- She sort of killed Mr. Dawes with happiness.
