Marisa Kirisame is the deuteragonist of the animesque bullet hell shoot-em-up game franchise Touhou Project, and the best friend of the protagonist of the series, Reimu Hakurei.

What Makes Her Admirable?[]
- Journeying into the Netherworld to find and rescue Spring after Winter had not come to an end when it should've in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil.
- Upon learning that the moon had been replaced by a fake one, she headed to the moon to discover why and find the real moon in Imperishable Night.
- Uncovering the reason behind the unnatural amount of flowers growing during the Springtime in Phantasmagoria of Flower View.
- Helping Reimu stop a rival shrine from taking over Hakurei Shrine in Mountain of Faith.
- Investigating the appearance of a geyser behind the Hakurei Shrine that wasn't there before, only to find out it was ordered to be placed there by Patchouli Knowledge and Yukari Yakumo (as well as why) in Subterranean Animism.
- When Divine Spirits began appearing in Gensokyo, she went out to unravel the reason why in Ten Desires.
- Uncovering Okina Matara's role in causing the fairies to go berserk and by extension, the seasons of Gensokyo to go haywire in Hidden Star in Four Seasons.
- Venturing to Hell to stop an invasion of beast spirits in Wily Beast and Weakest Creature.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She's rude, impulsive, and self-centered much of the time. Which makes her too much of a jerk to be ranked anywhere higher. She's even introduced as a downright antagonist working for Mima against Reimu.
- Like Reimu, she's a borderline hero by proxy. As the majority of incidents she chooses to help out in resolving, she does so less out of genuine selflessness and more for the sake of being able to loot wherever she's going to solve the situation in questions or because she was bribed into helping by someone else involved (typically Reimu).
- She's a well-known thief who'll do just about anything to get her hands on any sort of precious artifact while denying the idea that she's even stealing at all.
