Mario is one of the two main protagonists (alongside SMG4) of the 2011 Australian adult-animated sitcom web series SMG4.
He is the older brother of Luigi and easily one of, if not the dumbest character in the series and has played several antagonistic roles, involving his sibling rivalry with Luigi, stupidity, addiction to spaghetti, and egotistical attitude, but at the same time, he is ultimately heroic in spite of his serious flaws (especially his idiotic tendencies). He is based off his Nintendo counterpart.
His voice clips were provided by Charles Martinet (who voiced Wario), Dan Castellaneta (who voiced Homer Simpson in The Simpsons), Christopher Daniel Barnes (who voiced Spider-Man (Earth-98311)). His singing voice was provided by David Phillips.

He is one of the two main protagonists (alongside SMG4) of the Classic era, one the three main protagonists (alongside Meggy Spletzer and SMG4) of the Modern era and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside SMG3) of the Showgrounds era.
He serves as the main protagonist of Season 1, one of the two main protagonists (alongside SMG4) of Seasons 2-8 and the Waluigi Arc the tritagonist of The Rapper Bob Arc, the deuteragonist of Season 9 and The SMG4 Cosmology Lore trilogy, and one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Fishy Boopkins and Saiko Bichitaru) of The Anime Arc.
In the Cosmology Lore, he serves as one of the two main protagonists (alongside SMG4) of Season 10 and The YouTube Arc, the deuteragonist of Seasons 11 and 12, The SMG4 Movie: 10 Year Anniversary Special, the Genesis Arc, and the Revelations Arc, one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Melony) of SMG4 Movie: REVELATIONS and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Meggy Spletzer) of the Lawsuit Arc and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside SMG3) of PUZZLEVISION Saga.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- He helped SMG4 in defeating SMG3 countless times, most notably in the YouTube Arc.
- He helped SMG4 and the gang stop Francis from committing genocide on the Inklings in the Anime Arc.
- He saved the Fall Guys Kingdom from Ernie in "If Mario was in Fall Guys".
- He helped SMG4 and the gang in defeating Waluigi in the Waluigi Arc.
- Even though he refused to give pity to Waluigi and mocked his backstory, he had a reason to do so, as he used his rejection from Smash Bros as a laughable excuse to destroy innocent lives.
- He stopped Enzo's murderous rampage in "The visitor."
- He was the one who defeated Ztar.
- He took SMG3's phone in order to reupload his friends' debut videos in order for them to come back.
- He helped SMG4 and the gang in defeating Niles twice in the Genesis Arc and the Revelations Arc.
- He gave Judge Kirby Parody Contract to stop Lawyer Kong's non-Nintendo characters genocide.
- On Mar10 Day, he wanted to give SMG4 an award, which is a crude drawing of the duo, as a way of saying thanks for being his best friend even though the day was solely dedicated to him.
- He played an important part in freeing everyone in Wren’s simulation.
- He used his stupidity to ruin Mr. Puzzles' show, with freeing everyone in the world from his brainwashing as well as letting Gang make their own to completely ruin his plan.
- He twice turned Leggy into Meggy to defeat Mr. Puzzles.
- He showed his sympathetic & sweet side towards his friends at times.
- He teams up with Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Luigi and Rabbid Peach in saving the Rabbid universe from getting conquered by Wario and his army of WAHbbids.
- He, SMG4 and Minion put a stop to Luigi's efforts in conquering the world with Luigi Dolls by destroying the factory.
- He restored Peach's Castle and turing Peach back to normal with the help of Swag and Chris, resulting in the death of the Eldritch Goop.
- While he initially tried to prevent SMG4 from ending by wishing that he'd never retire, he eventually comes to terms with the fact that all good things come to an end eventually, helping the alternate timeline SMG4 start his career and going back to his own timeline to reconcile with the original SMG4.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's so stupid that he can be considered amoral.
- Additionally, his stupidity stems from SMG4 altering the Marioverse, which in turn means Mario has moral agency issues.
- He is very incompetent.
- Despite redeeming himself in the series finale, he committed too many heinous acts be NPG, like in "The Meme Games", he forced many people (including his own friends) pass tough challenges and lied that they'd get a wish for winning them.
- He's a massive jerk to not just towards his friends, but to anyone in general, being a flat out sociopath who is often callous towards other people and their feelings, doing stuff when he's not supposed to, and flipping people off.
- He's very arrogant and egotistical, as he acts like an entitled narcissist most of the time and is very selfish in general.
- He is extremely mischievous, because his stupidity always allows him to cause chaos and havoc all around him, and annoying his friends oftentimes. This even extends to his enemies, as shown with his antics driving Mr. Puzzles to a breaking point. While it could be argued that Mr. Puzzles deserved it for trapping the gang in his shows, it's also worth mentioning that Mario only annoyed him just for the sake of it.
- He has a disgusting obsession over spaghetti and his stupidity even to the point where it can sometimes overshadow his care and safety of his friends.
- He's a Hero by Proxy and an Anti-Hero, as he usually doing good things for reward or because somebody forced him to. While he is able to do heroic actions for good intentions such as bringing his friends back, is still too corrupting.
- In SMG4 Movie: PUZZLEVISION, he remembered his friends brainwashing and the fate they ended up in, but instead of doing anything about it, he decided to just watch TV. What makes this even worse is that he didn't show concern for them.
- In the same movie, he attempted to kill Mr. Puzzles in a brutal manner. While Mr. Puzzles absolutely deserves it for tormenting the crew for his amusement and attempted to put him back into his shows, Mario only attempted to kill him because he interrupted Mario's TV time, not because of what Mr. Puzzles did to him or his friends, with it even being shown that during the chase, Mr. Puzzles was clearly afraid for his life to the point where he ran away to get to safety. Later in the movie, it's shown that Mario was hasn't let the incident go, as he went from house to house, destroying numerous TVs, all because of what happened between them earlier.
- Sometimes, he hits Mr. Puzzles for no reason and he doesn't even sympathize with him at the end of WOTFI 2024 as Meggy did.
- However, he saves his friends from Mr. Puzzles both times in the end and despite not saving his friends at first from the Puzzlevision shows because he didn't remember well was in the shows and didn't feel like it, he does eventually help saving them later on, and from his carnival scheme months later, and while he doesn't show sympathy to him after he is defeated a second time, he does at least smile when Meggy says she hopes he'll change for the better, showing he might at least hold on to the hope Mr. Puzzles will be redeemed, so this is a minor prevention.

- He, SMG4, Saiko Bichitaru, SMG3, Meggy Spletzer, and Mr. Puzzles are the five SMG4 inconsistently Admirable Heroes.
- Out of the six, he, SMG4, SMG3, and Mr. Puzzles are the only ones to be labeled as both Inconsistently Admirable and Inconsistently Heinous.
- He, along with Marvin, are the only versions of Mario to be IA.
- Ironically, his corrupting factors are what people find enjoyable to watch, and it's what made him (and the cast) popular.
