Mametchi (まめっち Mametchi) is the main protagonist of the Tamagotchi anime series.
He is a highly intelligent Tamagotchi who likes to make inventions, he is one of the smartest students in Tamagotchi school, and is also a helpful Tamafriend.
He is played by Rie Kugimiya in the original Japanese Dub, Sean Morse in the English Dub, and voiced by Stephanie Sheh in the English dub of the Movie.

- He rescued the egg of his unborn lil sister, Chamametchi, risking his life by climbing a tall tower when the egg was about to fall off just to save his sister.
- After getting caught by he and his friends parents sneaking into a rocket in order to look for Sunnytchi due to him leaving for some hot springs when Mametchi thought he left due to him creating Mamesunnytchi, causing Tamagotchi Planet to catch a cold and cause earthquakes for a long while, also causing Mametchi and his friends to go into the rocket to look for Sunnytchi, Mametchi remorsefully apologized for what he did and said that the reason why he created Mamesunnytchi was because he was severely afraid of the dark and he created Mamesunnytchi to make sure it was light in his room.
- He decides to feed the giant cold medicine into the Tamagotchi planet to make it feel better due to Papamametchi suggesting him to do so, doing the right thing to stop the earthquakes.
- After getting heated with her sister, Chamametchi, while he at first did not care on how she felt afterwards, he felt sorry later on for what he did to her and apologized to her and he made amends with her.
- He and Tanpopo worked together to wake up Blackholetchi due to him sucking the rocket up that had aboard him, Tanpopo, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi and Chamametchi, and causing massive asteroids to fly next to or sometimes fly at the rocket because he was sleeping.
- They also worked together to get an asteroid out of the rockets speaker so they can make it easier to wake up Blackholetchi.
- When Blackholetchi apologized for not noticing Mametchi and Tanpopo when he was sleeping, Mametchi accepted his apology.
- Thanks to the help of Tanpopo, he was able to conquer his fear of the dark.
- When Tanpopo was about to leave and go back home, Mametchi came to her farewell party and congratulated her and thanked her for all the help she gave, and he and his friends tearfully hugged her due to them missing her deeply.
- Even though Tanpopo was no longer on Tamagotchi planet, Mametchi was still able to communicate with her through her Tamagotchi pet.
Happiest Story in the Universe[]
- He works together with his friends from a tornado storm that turns people into paper.
- He jumps into the book along with his friends to save Kikitchi.
- He allows Hapihapitchi to use her happy power on Happy, making him find his true happy ending.
TV Series[]
- In the episode A Big Race on Tamastreet, while he and Kuromametchi did at first compete against each other in the Tamastreet race, after they saw that Kuchipatchi was bouncing uncontrollably, they stopped their competing and would work together to save Kuchipatchi, as Mametchi would let Kuromametchi swing him up into the air to collide with Kuchipatchi to stop him from bouncing.
- After seeing that Lovelitchi was lonely, he decided to make Lovelitchi apart of his friend group, telling her about how great being a tama friend is.
- After Lovelitchi told him and his friends about her identity as super star Lovelin, explaining that she was scared about their friendship falling apart, due to thinking that super star's can not have real friends and also having a tragic past, Mametchi and his friends accepted her identity and apology and were ultimately still friends with her afterword's, even keeping her super star identity a secret between them as promised.
- He, along with Memetchi and Kuchipatchi, helped Lovelitchi look for the treasure for the mysterious island.
- He helped Rednosetchi look for Santaclautchi after he lost track of him, and after he and his friends reunited them, he helped save Christmas by delivering gifts to Tamagotchi town, along with Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, Chamametchi and Hapihapitchi while Santaclautchi was pulling the sleigh
- He and his friends helped Lovelitchi skate on the ice due to her having trouble ice skating.
- He helped his little sister, Chamametchi, win the Tama lucky lottery.
- Furthermore, it was thanks to him getting them as rewards due to giving back Daikutchi his missing wallet.
- In the episode Ding Dong! You Have a Visitor, when Memetchi and Makiko where having a big quarrel over a small mistake, Mametchi tried his best to make them make up, and eventually succeeds afterword's and he gets them to apologize to each other.
- Though he has a unhealthy obsession with Gotchiman, he did go as far as to help him go back to his glory days and actually be heroic by showing him how special he was by explaining to him how much of a fan he was to him despite thinking that he was talking to a fan that looked like him but was indeed him.
- Furthermore, he is also responsible for making Gotchiman save a bus full of people that was about to fall off the street bridge due to Mametchi making him an invention called the gotchijet, and even putting the Gotchiman show back on the air.
- When he heard the news that Memetchi was gonna be moving (Though this turned out to be a hoax) he and his friends threw her a farewell party and gave her their most loved items.
- Further more, when Memetchi started crying due to her being scared that her friends were gonna call her a big fat liar due to her revealing the truth in her imagination, then revealing it to her friends tearfully in reality, Mametchi and his friends instead cried tears of joy due to them being happy that she was gonna stay, showing their love and care for Memetchi.
- In The Power of the bond, he works together with his friends and with Kizunatchi to save Tamagotchi planet from the egg curse, which turns everyone into eggs that gets worse as they lose their personality, features and ability to speak, a fate worse than death could end up affecting the whole planet.
- When Kizunatchi fails and almost gives up on saving the world causing almost all hope to be lost, Mametchi and his friends all hold hands and value what they love and plea for Kizunatchi to not give up or else everyone will turn into eggs, also telling her how important she is to them, eventually reviving Kizunatchi with her thanking them for their bond, with her then breaking the egg curse causing the Kizuna hearts to fill up the world once more, turning everyone back to normal.
- Due to helping Kizunatchi save the world, Mametchi, Kuchipatchi, Memetchi, Lovelitchi and a few others got moved to dream school being held as special Tamagotchi citizens
- As seen in the episode, Mametchi and his friends are the ones that are responsible for making Kizunatchi save the world from the egg curse, as if it wasn't for them, the Tamagotchi species would all be unspeakable and unrecognizable eggs.
- When Kizunatchi fails and almost gives up on saving the world causing almost all hope to be lost, Mametchi and his friends all hold hands and value what they love and plea for Kizunatchi to not give up or else everyone will turn into eggs, also telling her how important she is to them, eventually reviving Kizunatchi with her thanking them for their bond, with her then breaking the egg curse causing the Kizuna hearts to fill up the world once more, turning everyone back to normal.
- In Laughing, Laughing, Another Gottsun!, after seeing the Tamagotchi planet cry, due to the Tamagottsun creating Doritamatown, and the Tamagottsun would get worse, also realizing that its crying continuing could cause a permanent drought that would affect the whole planet and wipe out all of the Tamagotchi species, Mametchi and his friends worked together to try to make the planet happy again, and they would try anything they can to make it happy.
- Mametchi then tells the planet how special it is and how loved it is, which is enough to make the Tamagotchi planet happy again, turning everything back to normal, getting congratulated for saving the world along with his friends.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He can be short tempered and overreactive from time to time, as he at times gets mad and upset when something grinds his gears with him even overreacting at some things, one example being that he yelled at his sister Chamametchi in the movie due to her accidently messing up the controls on the rocket causing the big pill to go into the Tamagotchi planet's nose which would cause him to sneeze and blast Mametchi and his friends who were inside the rocket far away, even saying that it is her fault and also telling her to go away and think about what she did despite it being only an accident for doing it, this caused Chamametchi to cry due to what Mametchi said to her, with Mametchi not caring at first, (though he did later on).
- He is also shown to have some mischievous and vengeful moments, a big example is that in the episode Go Go! Tama Adventure! he and his friends Memetchi and Kuchipatchi planned to scare Chamametchi, Imotchi and Kikitchi while they were looking for the pumpkin soup lake as revenge due to Kikitchi telling Kuchipatchi that he did not make it to the forest and fainted in fright, and Imotchi having an argument at Memetchi due to Imotchi telling her that she gets lost at bad directions, while Mametchi was not a big part of the argument, he still did take part in the revenge to scare off Chamametchi, Imotchi and Kikitchi and watch them get lost.
- He has a bit of an unhealthy obsession with Gotchiman, as he would go as far as to make a wish to Gypsytchi about wishing a fortune of Gotchiman succeeding in a next episode of his show instead of something really special, also staying up all night on a school night just to watch every episode on his Gotchiman dvd's.
