â | You built these weapons to destroy us. Why? Because you are afraid of our gifts, because we are different. Humanity has always feared that which is different. Well, I am here to tell you, to tell the world, you are right to fear us. We are the future, we are the ones who will inherit this earth, and anyone who stands in our way will suffer the same fate as these men you see before you. Today was meant to be a display of your power, instead I give you a glimpse of the devastation my race can unleash upon yours. Let this be a warning to the world and my mutant brothers and sisters out there, I say this: No more hiding, no more suffering, you have lived in the shadows in shame and fear for too long. Come out, join me, fight together in a brotherhood of our kind. A new tomorrow that starts today. | â |
~ Magneto, in the past, convincing mutants around the world to join him in his revolution. |
â | I've lived with vengeance my whole life. Ever since I was a child, I lost everyone I ever loved, so I hurt people. Yes, killed people. Killed whatever I thought would make the pain go away. It didn't, no matter how many souls I sent under. So I stopped. | â |

Magneto (real name Erik Magnus Lehnsherr) is a major antagonist of the X-Men film series.
Magneto is an extremely powerful and ruthless mutant with the ability to manipulate all forms of magnetism. Despite his different views on mutant superiority, he has close bond with fellow mutant and longtime friend Charles Xavier, who believed that there was still good in Erik despite his actions. Despite being an enemy of Charles and the X-Men, he has assisted them on numerous occasions to stop bigger threats, such as Sebastian Shaw, William Stryker, Apocalypse, and the D'Bari.
He is portrayed by Sir Ian McKellen who also portrayed Cogsworth in the 2017 Beauty and the Beast Film in the modern-day films and by Michael Fassbender in the prequel series. In X-Men: The Official Game, he was voiced by Dwight Schultz.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
In General[]
- He has very good reasons to hate people, because he lost his whole family because of them.
- Despite their partial enmity, he cares deeply about Charles Xavier and Raven Darkholme, and is ready to protect them from any danger. He also cares deeply about his family members, namely his deceased parents, wife and daughter.
- He is a noble extremist who does everything just to protect mutants.
- Although he was a real villain in the original timeline (albeit a noble one), after changing the timeline, he lost many of his villainous qualities and became a hero.
Movies[]
- He helped Charles and Mystique found a school for mutant children, in which he participated in their education.
- He helped Charles, Mystique and other mutants defeat Sebastian Shaw and thus prevent him from unleashing a world nuclear war, as well as taking revenge on him for the murder of his mother and to the other innocent humans and mutants alike.
- He tried to kill Bolivar Trask to prevent him from destroying all mutants in the future with backup he had in mind.
- He saved an innocent worker when he was almost crushed to death.
- Although he joined Apocalypse and helped him destroy the world, he soon realized that he had made a mistake and thus betrayed his close friends, after which he helped them defeat Apocalypse.
- He began to live a normal peaceful life on the island, while saying that committing murders and revenge did not make it easier for him.
- He also became a hero, a pacifist and the leader of an island where mutants go to be left alone called Genosha.
- He saved the military from an angry Jean Grey by letting them fly away.
- He wanted to kill Jean Grey to get revenge on her for killing Mystique.
- He, along with the other X-Men, prevented the evil alien race D'Bari from destroying all life on Earth.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is very lethal and anti-heroic in his actions, as he is ready to kill many people and mutants (despite declaring himself their saviour) to achieve his goals.
- He can also be sadistic, and enjoy hurting people, like when he brutally tortured Nazis with a knife and then almost strangled Emma Frost to death, watching with pleasure.
- He can be wrathful at times.
