NOTE: This article is only about Garmadon in his corrupted state and therefore only his actions under his corrupted state should be placed here. His uncorrupted form is voted as Near Pure Good and his deeds can be added on this page.

Lord Garmadon is an major character of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. He is the older son of the First Spinjitzu Master, brother of Wu and father of Lloyd Garmadon who became corrupted by the Great Devourer's venom.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

In General[]

  • While the admirable standards are pretty high, he stands out for repeatedly saving the world from threats such as the Great Devourer, the Oni and the Overlord and doing it while being an amoral villain forced into evil.

Background[]

  • When they were young he tried to dissuade Wu from trespassing into Serpentine territory and later he lied to his father about the matter so that Wu would not get in trouble.
  • When he caught his brother teaching Aspheera Spinjitzu, he warned him that she couldn’t be trusted.
  • After Aspheera overthrew Mambo, he decided to help Wu defeat her using the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjitzu.
  • When he and Wu accidentally lost one of their father’s katanas while sparring, Garmadon went to retrieve it due to his brother being too scared, which ultimately resulted in getting bitten by the Great Devourer and beginning his corruption.
  • Despite being corrupted into by the Great Devourer, he resisted the effects for multiple decades and did heroic deeds as long as he could.
  • Over the years, even after their father’s death, he and Wu would remain close and even fought Samukai together at some point.
  • Although he decided to train under Master Chen, once he realized Chen was a horrific villain and planned to disrupt the truce between humanity and Serpentine and betray his own race for pure profit he abandoned himand when the Serpentine War broke out, he refused to side with the snakes, which Chen tried to convince him of, and rejoined with his brother and the Elemental Masters.
  • He was the one who started the idea of using the Sacred Flutes to lock the Serpentine away.
  • He and Wu used the Time Blades to defeat the Time Twins and later cast them out knowing Time was too powerful for anyone to control.

Rise of the Snakes[]

  • Even though he attacked his brother during their reunion in the Realm of Madness, he immediately stopped when Wu revealed Lloyd was in danger.
  • He forms an alliance with Wu and guides him through the Realm of Madness.
  • He admits he never wanted Lloyd to follow the same path he did and genuinely thanks Wu for taking care of him.
  • He went with the Ninja to the Fire Temple where he defeated several Serpentine and (at first) saved Lloyd.
  • When Lloyd was separated from the group he tried to stay and save him from the eruption despite the others's protests.
  • He genuinely thanks Kai for saving Lloyd.
  • Though he is proud at first when his son is revealed to be the Green Ninja, he instantly becomes discouraged and sad when he realizes he’ll have to fight him.
  • When Nya reported the ninja had been captured he tried to help but Lloyd refuses, having caught Garmadon trying to hack the Destiny’s Bounty for information on the ninja.
  • He gathered the Skulkin army to fight the Serpentine and save the Ninja. This not only saved the Ninja but also helped them obtain the Fangblades to stop Pythor from freeing the Great Devourer, although Pythor managed to take them back.
  • Before he leaves, he tells Lloyd that he is truly proud of him despite their inevitable fight.
  • When he saw that the Great Devourer had been set free, he hurried to the battlefield.
  • He killed the Great Devourer and saved Ninjago by using the four Golden Weapons to hit its weak spot, though he also took the chance to steal them.

Legacy of the Green Ninja[]

  • He’s seen to be reluctant to fight his son, which even The Overlord calls him out for.
  • He tried to resist the Overlord’s control of his body during the fight with Lloyd.

March of the Oni[]

  • He helped Lloyd awaken his Oni powers.
  • He helped the Ninja defeat the Omega and his Oni empire who were planning to destroy all 16 realms.
  • He looked distraught when Lloyd was unconscious after the battle with the Oni
  • After he leaves the Ninja and goes on his own way, he, remembering what Vinny told him what is more important than survival, redeemed himself by moving in with Vinny and stopped doing evil deeds.

Crystalized[]

  • He transforms into his Oni form to destroy many Crystal warriors.
  • He with Lloyd defeated some Crystal warriors.
  • He "sacrifices" himself for Lloyd's life against The Overlord, but he fakes his death and congratulates Lloyd for his Oni form.
  • He helped his family and allies to rebuild the Monastery.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He spends most of the series as a villainous tyrant trying to take over the world, so his evil deeds outweigh the good ones. Although he redeems himself by the end of the original series, he still acts rather arrogantly even if he is trying to improve himself.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only IA so far to be considered both IA and NPG at the same time due to varying moral circumstances. This is because in his Sensei Garmadon form, he has a different moral agency and isn't corrupted by darkness.
  • He, Ronin and General Arcturus are currently the only Ninjago characters to be Inconsistently Admirable.
