Captain Levi Ackerman, reputed as Humanity's Strongest Solider. is the tritagonist of the Attack on Titan franchise.
He is a captain in the Survey Corps and leader of the special operations squad, known to be the strongest soldier alive. He has a harsh and unsocial personality, but is well-regarded by his subordinates and he cares about their lives.
He is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Matthew Mercer and Mikaela Krantz as a child in the English version of the anime.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
In General[]
- He is an extremely selfless man who is always willing to risk his life for others. He is also quick to give praise to others.
- Places great value on human life and hates unnecessary casualties, as shown on several occasions such as the failed 57th expedition, and during the final mission to reclaim Wall Maria as well as the raid on Marley, he urged his comrades to stay alive.
- Although he often may appear emotionless or detached, he is in fact the most emotional character and instead forces himself to hide his feelings so that he can keep on going, as he has lost many of his comrades along the way.
- He also hates killing his enemies, but will not hesitate to kill if necessary to protect those he cares about.
- He is extremely obedient to orders from higher ups.
- In the underground, he was shown to have loved his mother, shown by his sombre look when he was found by Kenny.
Actions[]
- He defended Isabel when she was being chased.
- While he was rude about it, he wanted Isabel and Furlan to stay behind on their first expedition only because he wanted them to stay safe.
- After they died, he was extremely grief stricken leading to him blaming himself and killing the Titans who killed them (one specific Titan in the anime version) out of rage.
- During the expedition, he killed the Titan which a soldier is caught on and later tell Petra Ral one of his closest allies to take care about the injured soldier while he focuses on other Titans. When the soldier dies without, he and Petra are able to do anything for him, he said that he have done his duty well, grabbing his blood soiled hand. This bears even more meaning given how much he hates getting his hands dirty.
- During the Battle of Trost District, he saved Rico, Mikasa, Armin, and Eren by killing the Titans that were attacking them.
- At Eren's trial, while he was resorted to violence against Eren, he only did so in order to save his life and ensure that the Military Police would not kill him, and later told Eren why it was necessary.
- Told Eren that he isn't wrong to transform himself into a Titan to fight to Female Titan, letting his make his choice.
- When Eren accidentally transformed, he was the only one in his squad that came to his defense, trying to calm the rest of his squad members down.
- When Erwin praises Levi for leading the Female Titan to the trap, he tells Erwin that the credit went to the rear guard who gave their lives to buy time.
- Extracted the human (who is revealed to be Annie Leonhart later) inside of the Female Titan with the help of Erwin Smith but unfortunately she escaped.
- He was extremely grief stricken by the loss of his squad by the Female Titan.
- Told Mikasa to distract the Titan and not killing her because she is able to harden her skin. Levi managed to incapacitates her after succeeding an attack streak to her. When Mikasa gets hurts by the Female Titan, he pulled her out of the way forcing himself injures his left leg.
- He saved Eren who was eaten by the Female Titan by forcing her to open her mouth and then grabs Eren and flees with Mikasa, despite him being coated with phlegm.
- When Dieter disobeyed Erwin's orders and tried to retrieve Ivan's dead body, they were pursued by Titans, resulting in further casualties and the loss of the retrieved dead bodies, including Petra's. Instead of scolding Dieter, he gave him Petra's patch (the last memory of his close comrade), telling him it was Ivan's, in order to console him.
- He agrees to reveal the identify of a person who is able to speak about the secrets of the Walls.
- Levi invited the MPs to join them into the Survey Corps.
- Levi visited Erwin to express his sympathy for the loss of his arm.
- When Hange proposes that Titans may all originally be humans, he is extremely disturbed by this news and that he has been spending time and energy killing people.
- He, Hange and the squads members retreated into a remote cabine to seal the hole in Wall Maria to save logistical costs of hauling out materials.
- He and the squad attacked the kidnappers before the deception could be discovered and makes an accord with the Reeves Company to works with the Interior Military Police together with the Survey Corps by offering the hand over Eren and Historia.
- Forced Sannes to get information about the Reiss family by torturing him even if it is for a good cause.
- He consoled Armin about killing a First Interior Squad member when he felt bad about killing someone else, saying that it was because Armin got blood on his hands that Jean did not die.
- Levi has presented his worldview where food, sleep and even the lives of companions aren't guaranteed to be around tomorrow. He will gonna kill persons if it's for saving the best part of the humanity, but he says that he would rather that somebody else take control of the entire world.
- He and Hange manage to catch up with the First Interior Squad and spy on the hearse and coffins that carrying Eren and Historia.
- When he suddenly saw his uncle Kenny Ackerman being near to him he prepared to attack him by throwing one of his blades at Kenny.
- Asked Kenny if killing his soldiers is part of that and then he asked him back that he will kill anybody if he gets the job done. Then Levi shot him by aiming with the bottle reflection.
- Trapped Marlowe and Hitch with his squad and take their uniforms with the intention of infiltrating the MP to find out where Eren and Historia have been taken.
- He, Connie and Jean took the keys to free Eren and disabuses his decision of getting eaten by Rod.
- Levi asks Kenny about the First King and why he does not want humanity to survive and also asked him about his mother.
- Provide a house for poor and orphans by supporting Historia.
- When Eren shows signs of exhaustion from hardening experiments, he shows Eren his concern, giving him a handkerchief when Eren suffers from a nosebleed, despite his hatred for filth.
- During the Return to Shiganshina, he attacked Reiner and tried to kill him. He is later charged to protect the horses.
- Gave Erwin a tip to save as many lives as possible by "loading them on Eren", offering to distract the Beast Titan so that Erwin and Eren can survive with as many people.
- Attacked the Beast Titan aka Zeke Yeager by slicing open the nape and telling that his body is so damaged that he cannot transform again while he is busy healing it.
- He didn't immediately decide to kill him by himself by asking if he can heal up somebody with his serum to eat him alive for the person being transformed into the Titan steal Zeke's power.
- Before he is going to heal up Erwin, he later reminded into Armin's conversation with Eren and Mikasa about the ocean. He then tell Erwin to give to his dream with sorry and heals up Armin. He after apologizes dying Erwin to not kill it before the Beast Titan.
- This was an extremely selfless decision as it meant that Erwin would finally rest in peace, but bought a lot of grief onto himself at the loss of his best friend. It also saved Eren and his friends a large amount of grief.
- Opened the door for Eren containing the Yeager's memories.
- Showed concern for Hange when they were at the ocean.
- Stops Ramzi from stealing Sasha's purse.
- When a crowd of the market in a Marleyan city try to punish Ramzi in severe ways, he tries to cover for him by saying that he is Sasha's little sister. When this fails, he runs away, carrying Ramzi.
- Although Ramzi steals his money after that, he holds no grudge against him.
- He sliced Galliard's Titan's jaw so that he couldn't eat Eren and retake the Founder.
- He was really upset when his squad was turned into Pure Titans by Zeke and was forced to kill them in order to stop Zeke.
- He was willing to work together with his former enemies to stop the Rumbling.
- When he met Zeke again during the Rumbling, he immediately cuts his head killing him, helping to stop the Rumbling.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is an anti-hero as he is willing to kill people in order for the greater good making him a well-intentioned extremist.
- He acts too much of a jerk and cold-hearted to everybody, such as when he coldly told Eren that transforming was an order and that he had to make it happen.
- He retains his violent tendencies even after joining the survey corps as seen when he forced Historia to become queen by violently choking her.
- Can be rather cruel against his enemies, such as when he threatened to torture Annie and also tortured Sannes.
- Begrudgingly took part in Zeke's plan and participated in the Raid on Liberio in Marley, helping Zeke to fake his death, although he did not kill any person specifically.
- He is far too lethal, as he tortured Zeke then later cut his head brutally, though he had understandable reasons for the former, and in the latter case Zeke agreed with Levi dealing the killing blow, although he was not very eager for it. His lethalness is way too strong to even be considered minor as he also tortured Eren in season 1 without paying attention to other and also he tortured a military police member.
