~ Leone Montana describing his code of honor |
Leone "Léon" Montana is the titular main protagonist of the 1994 thriller film Léon: The Professional.
He was portrayed by Jean Reno.
His Good Ranking[]
Debatable validations[]
- Stansfield mentions that Tony was killing people for him, but we never know if Leon himself was involved, and even if he was, we never know, what kind of people they were and what wrong they did to Stansfield. It is possible Leon didn’t know that and even if he did, he didn’t mind – he was just doing what he was paid for.
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- He’s honorable because while he’s an assassin, he never kills women or children and hates everyone who does it.
- He saves Mathilda Lando from Norman Stansfield multiple times and even sacrifices his life to do it.
- He also trains her to become an assassin and attempts to convince Tony to give her a job. Furthermore, he is able to get Mathilda to stop smoking and cursing.
- He successfully kills Norman Stansfield after himself being mortally wounded by him.
- By killing Norman, he not only saves Mathilda, but New York City, as while it's never shown, how exactly crimes did Norman commit, but Norman still was a large threat that couldn't be eliminated any other way.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He’s an assassin, who kills people for money. While he's never shown to take pleasure from his killings, he doesn't feel any remorse either.
- He also mentioned killing the father of his girlfriend. While this father killed his own daughter just for being Leon’s girlfriend, it’s not completely justifiable.
