I hurt her a long time ago. (Stranger: How?) In a lot ways. She travelled for work. I didn't like that. I wanted a family. (A reasonable thing to want.) So, we fought. And it made my biggest fear come true. I got sick one day on the way to class. Cancelled it and went home. Found her there with someone else. Killed him. I was mad at her for so long and I can't imagine how much pain she felt.
~ Lee, on his wife, to The Stranger (Determinant).

Lee Everett is the overarching protagonist of Telltale's The Walking Dead video game series and its comic book sequel Clementine by Skybound.

Convicted for the murder of a state senator who slept with his wife, Lee is freed from this fate by the apocalypse and he meets a young girl named Clementine. The two go on to meet new people in a quest to survive in a world quickly changing around them.

He was voiced by Dave Fennoy.

  • Helps Lilly to get medicine for Larry.
  • Protects the group and Clementine from walkers during the pharmacy attack.
  • Saves either Carley or Doug from walkers.

"Starved For Help"[]

  • Attempts to save David Parker from the bear trap. (determinant)
  • Can give four pieces of food to people within his group rather than for himself. Feeding the kids, Clem and Duck, are considered to be the most admirable choices.
  • Saves Katjaa from a reanimated David/Travis.
  • Tries to reason with Jolene. (determinant)
  • Stops Clementine from eating Mark's legs and warns the others about what the St. Johns are doing. (determinant)
  • Either attempts to revive Larry or helps Kenny kill him to protect the group. (determinant)
  • Rescues Katjaa from Brenda with the help of a zombified Mark.
  • Either spares the lives of the St. John brothers or kills them to protect the group.
  • Speaks out against stealing from the Stranger's car. (determinant)

  • Leaves Lilly behind for the group's safety or allows her back in the RV out of mercy.
  • Peacefully convinces Kenny to stop the train. (determinant)
  • Either shoots Duck out of mercy or provides emotional support to Kenny if he's letting him do it. (determinant)
  • Teaches Clementine how to shoot and cuts her hair to make it harder to grab.
  • Asks why Ben made a deal with the bandits instead of threatening him. (determinant)
  • Saves either an injured Omid or Christa from walkers, albeit saving Omid is considered the more admirable choice. (determinant)

"Around Every Corner"[]

  • Saves Kenny from a walker. (determinant)
  • Puts Fivel (a zombified child) down or encourages Kenny to do so. (determinant)
  • Digs a grave for Fivel and gives him a proper burial.
  • Spares Molly's life if he defeats her.
  • Honors Chuck after he finds his corpse.
  • Reasons with Vernon instead of threatening him. (determinant)
  • Saves Molly from a walker in Crawford. (determinant)
  • Stands up for Ben when others want to abandon him. (determinant)
  • Saves Ben from a zombified Crawford Oberson, and pulls him before he falls down the Crawford bell tower. (determinant)
  • Reveals his bite to the group. (determinant)

"No Time Left"[]

  • Cuts off his arm to buy himself more time to save Clementine. (determinant)
  • Reasons with Kenny instead of losing his temper. (determinant)
  • (If Ben is alive) Attempts to save Ben by pulling him off the rebar he got impaled on but fails.
  • (If Ben is alive) Tries to convince Kenny not to give up and commit suicide. (determinant)

  • Tells Omid and Christa to take care of Clementine if he dies. (determinant)
  • Attempts to be reasonable with the Stranger until he realizes he's too far gone. (determinant)
  • Kills the Stranger to save Clementine. (determinant)
  • Before his death, he gives survival advice to Clementine and supports her in the tough decision to kill him or let him turn.
    • Overall, Lee significantly impacted Clementine's life by raising her into a hardened survivor with his teachings. His advice also helped her to raise Alvin Jr. in the same way Lee raised her, making him the posthumous bigger good of the rest of the series.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

Overall[]

  • Most of his heroic actions are determined by the player's choices and can be avoided in favor of more villainous actions like lying, stealing, or murdering. However, even most of these actions are usually done to protect Clementine or the group.
  • Has a wrathful side that led him to kill his wife's lover before the events of the game. This trait can be more or less pronounced depending on player choice.
  • Is occasionally rude to others, telling Omid and Kenny to shut up unprovoked without player input.

"A New Day"[]

  • Constantly scolds Hershel and lies to him.
  • Does not try to save either Duck or Shawn.
  • Stands with Larry to toss Duck out of the pharmacy as he believes the kid is bitten.
  • Scolds Carley while she's trying to urge him to tell the truth to the group about his past.

"Starved For Help"[]

  • Feeds the other adult members and himself, instead of Clementine and Duck.
  • Provokes Larry to eat Mark's legs, even if he deserved as he berated Lee and did not believe him when Lee warned the others.
  • Steals from the Stranger's car along with the others. While this done was to feed the group, it indirectly led to the deaths of the Stranger's wife and daughter.

"Long Road Ahead"[]

  • (If Lilly comes with the group) Has a choice of accepting Lilly's offer to steal Kenny's RV and flee from the group together after taking Clementine.
  • Beats and threatens Kenny to stop the train and put Duck down before he turns into a zombie. While it was for convincing Kenny and protecting Katjaa and Duck, there are more diplomatic options.
  • After Chuck says that Clementine will die, Lee threatens him instead of questioning him.
  • Threatens to kill Ben after he confesses that he gave supplies to the bandits.
  • Does not try to save either Omid or Christa.

"Around Every Corner"[]

  • Seizes Vernon's gun and threatens or lies to them to get Vernon to escort him back to the mansion
  • Needlessly scolds Molly after she tells him about her past.
  • (If Clementine comes to Crawford) Does not let her vote for Ben, and later votes against Ben to leave him behind.
  • Drops Ben from the top of the bell tower or allows Oberson to pull him down. While he and Kenny argue that dropping him is best for the group, it is still an extreme action.
  • Threatens to kill Vernon and slams him against the wall after he offers Lee to take Clementine to his group for her safety.

"No Time Left"[]

  • (If Ben is alive) When Ben is impaled, Lee can tell Kenny to leave Ben there, as he can't be saved. (all determinant)
