Sir Lancelot "Lance" Richmond is a deuteragonist of the LEGO Nexo Knights TV series. Born into a noble family, he aspired to become a celebrity as a child, but his father insisted on him becoming a knight. After studying at and graduating from the Knights' Academy, he became one of the Nexo Knights, protectors of the kingdom of Knighton.
He was voiced by Ian Hanlin, who also voiced Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic Prime.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Although initially he didn't want to be a knight, he eventually embraced his role, and it's made clear several times that he does heroism out of selfless desire to protect people rather than solely for attention and fame.
- During an operation to protect the royal couple from Lava Monsters, he saved Macy from falling off the king's train.
- He gave Clay a new copy of the Knight's Code after the original one was destroyed by Ava and apologized for acting irresponsible early on.
- When he believed Macy to have been trapped in the maze, he once again tried to save her.
- During a battle at Knight-a-con, he kept a kid from getting caught in crossfire despite him supporting Jestro.
- He always treats his pet pig Hamletta well, and protected her from Axl when the latter tried to eat her.
- Alongside other Nexo Knights, he praised Jestro's performance at Funnyton, which was one of the factors that convinced him to turn good.
- Alongside other Nexo Knights, he attacked the Redoubt of Ruination to save Clay from getting possessed by the Book of Monsters.
- Defended the Lava Lands Amusement Center and its visitors from Jestro, Monstrox and the Stone Monsters.
- He was disgusted by the amnesiac Clay's destruction of Nothing Hill, showing that in spite of his snobbishness, he is still concerned with the well-being of lower-class citizens.
- He helped Clay get his memory back by reminding him of his devotion to the Knight's Code.
- Took part in Aaron's attempt to destroy Monstrox before he could reach Knightonia, although it failed.
- During the final battle, he shielded Clay from Ruina Stoneheart's attack and knocked her out of the sky, letting his comrade turn Monstrox vurnerable, and assisted in destroying the necromancer's colossus body, thus saving the kingdom from destruction.
- While he's not as admirable as Clay and Merlok, they have more resources.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is extremely arrogant, bragging about his achievements every time he has an opportunity. Macy even says that despite her royal upbringing, she wants to be treated normally while Lance just throws his money around to remind people of how special he is.
- He is also rather egotistical, as he placates nearly everything he can with his likeness and likes to be the center of attention more than anything, without even bothering to hide his jealousy if it's someone else instead of him. His fear was even other people being more famous than him.
- He is too much of a jerk to be NPG, often arguing with his teammates over petty reasons, humiliating them for the sake of making himself look better on one occasion with no remorse, and being dismissive of commoners and their problems on a few occasions.
- He refused to save his parents from Jestro due to being bitter about their influence on his life. While he eventually bails them out, he has to be forced by his friends to do so and doesn't show remorse for putting his parents' lives in danger afterwards.
- Lance is extremely lazy, as he’ll pay someone to do whatever for him and often has his butler Dennis do the work for him.
- It even got to the point when Lance purposely made messes in the S1 finale, Dennis said Lance was ungrateful ever since he was a baby and resigns. This would come back to haunt him as when he is rescued by his friends, they wouldn’t even go near him due to his filth.
- In one episode, he pays Robin to take his training spot, pays Ava to program his phone and choose ringtones and wallpapers, and even paid Axl to take care of anyone’s complaints.
- He is insulted when his friends told him he could just do his own work rather than pay people off.
- Principal Brickland often calls out Lance for being the laziest of the group and he even says he focused more on his social life rather than his school.
- It was more of a joke, but he couldn’t even be bothered to read a book and when slammed in the face by a dictionary, he says he couldn’t find the words to thank his dad for a golden one.
